I think they stopped making them maybe 1996. At that time, Sheridan had built up a huge inventory, and the VMs sales had dropped off to nothing. They simply could not compete with the cheapo Spyders that started to flood the market, that could be built much cheaper. Same for retailers, and websites. Lots were sitting on VMs that stopped moving. SO, up until a couple years ago, it was still possible to find "New In Box" VMs floating around. So, I'd say -at least 13 years old, yet brand new. Maybe 14-15.

Not that it matters. When did the SXT (or whatever its called) come out? That was supposed to be the official end of the VM68 regardless.
