Question Anybody ever pump your VM?

Been looking around for a pump lately just cause I don't have one........yet

I have never played with one but a friend of mine and I have been talking about trying them out. And since I'm not ready to drop a butt-load-o'-bucks on something really nice like a phantom or a pump action automag. So....

Then I got to thinking....semi's are really only autococking pumps right?

So why not un-semi a semi? And since I seem to have a BUNCH of VM's around and am pretty familiar with how they work.....Anyone got any ideas? Or have gone down this road before, I have no problems learning from others mistakes (I figure I can always make different ones right?)

I'm not equipt to do much metalsmithing so I need something kind of bolt-on-ish.

I open the floor to suggestions.

Man,

That is offensive on so many levels, I can't even respond. Other than the response I've just given. And that one, also.

I'm now leaving, with no further response.

Including that one.

How hard depends on what you define as "pump".

If you only want the bolt to be manual, but do not mind if the hammer still recocks via blowback, then its fairly trivial.

One way, which could be reverted back to semi, would be to first remove the rear-base for the bolt so its not connected to the hammer. Then connect the rear upper plug to the bolt via a rod. Attach high enough to clear the hammer pin.

Then connect a pump to the rear upper plug. This way, the plug will act as a "back block". Then do the automag mod, and secure the lower plug by side screws only.

Ghetto, but reversable. A better solution would be to make the valve non-blowback, but that would require a custom valve, or custom cupseal. Autococker valves are similar, so perhaps an adapter could be fabricated? If you do not care about effeciency, you could drill a hole in the side of the gun, near the poppet to vent the blowback and not recock the hammer.

I think we should just go buy some Talons. Oh and yes I finally broke down and jump aboard this. Let the extreme wasting of company time begin!

I think the simplest way would be to fit the front asa wth a guide rod, then use a backblock system just like a cocker. Machining a new valve body might help, seeing as the vm valve uses an oversized rear face for blowback rather than a milled valve stem.

Yeah its about time you quit the lurking and get in on the fun.

Working next weekend on a union stagehand load out but after that we need to get regularly.

If you want to try a pump, just come out to a larger pump game like Pumpers Pandemonium and borrow someone's to see what you like. If you want to buy, get a Trracer or SL68 II. You can usually find them for about $40-$60.

I was also looking at the Mavrick pump. Anyone here have any opinions? Comments?

Whats the going price here on MCB or on E-Bay (Though would perfer here.) Seems like they get pretty good reviews and seem to be alot less expensive than a Phantom
