VM68 Machinegunning Help

So i got a VM-68 in the store to fix. and to be honest i havent touched one of these in years. so first thing i did after figuring out it had the machine gun affect going on. was that i took it apart cleaned it, re-lubed it, and tried to fire it again. which it did the exact same thing.

now the problem i have is that all the orings looked alright, except for maybe the bolt orings but we do not have those size orings. so i havent touched those.

the sear and hammer seam to be in good shape and the springs all seam to be in good shape as well.

any suggestions? recommendations?

anyhelp is greatly appreciated

I have several vm's

Of course that by far makes me a pro on them HP Lovecraft and Smiley are just two of many here who have helped me.

One of my VM's that I dont have working right yet does the same thing never fully recocking just shooting down to nothing and stopping. If there isnt enough pressure low on air then they will not recock also could be the trigger sear is worn down and fails to catch the hammer and hold it.

Check here on vm68.com this faq just about says it all

There are many things that can cause that.
To bad/wrong bolt orings is one cause. If you remove the bolt, and try to fire the gun. If it works fine, that might pinpoint it as the cause.

Could also be the bolt fps adjustment is between "clicks". a common headache.
Could also be a worn spring, or is missing the guide. Adding a couple dimes can tighten up the spring.

Could be the hammer oring, or someone used a sniper cupseal. Could be someone used overly long valve screws, and its binding the cupseal stem. Someone might have screwed in the valve tap screw (behind the feedblock) in too far, pushing into the bolt.

Those things are all fixable. It could also be the trigger. Specifically, the 2nd sear. It might just need a quick rebuild. vmempire has a step-by-step. If its just a matter of a spring needs to be reattached, thats easy. If the 2nd sear is broken, or missing, that will be tougher.

HP lovecraft knows his stuff. Read his post, but also check the brass nut that sits inside the valve. it could be backed out and covering the valve stem from the hammer, thus preventing it from being pushed open long enough.

so after through a mile list of seeing if it is this or that. everything on the gun is working how it should... except for the sears. both of which are rounded off. so where would i be able to pick up sears for these? is there anyone that the marker could be sent to that would replace the parts and get it running for cheap? how must would both sears cost?

we can't fix it so we are not charging the customer. but he would still like to get it fixed at some point for cheap. so if anyone can lead me in the right direction so i can pass it on to the customer that would be great.

If anyone has sears for these it'd be either Pro team Products or maybe American Paintball on here for new ones.... Bacci Paintball on here for used or possibly new ones. Last I knew Point Blank Paintball in West Springfield ,MA had a bunch of them in stock, but, that was several years ago... Might be worth calling them

Direct the guy here, he may be better off just buying a new gun, even just as a donor.
