In a post I wondered if the original designer/engineer of the VM-68 had any insight on the VM-68 and in retrospec what he would think of the loyal and longivity of the VM-68 fan base. So I looked him up and I think he passed away last month! Can this be confirmed? After looking up some patents checking the full name, that was him. A terrible accident. I found the defense contracts that his company was working on and they were sizeable contracts that the paper work alluded to small arms manufacturing. Given the news story and nothing else, it looks like he was working on a weapon and something went wrong. A tragic ending what whom I consider the god-father of STBB. I know the Promaster and F1 were prior, but not as widespread or as popular in my mind. I would hope that any engineer would smile knowing their creation out lasted them. |

Very sad way to go. I don't know anything else about the man so I can't say anything more. I'm going playing Saturday. Will have to bring along a VM. (OK... I ALWAYS bring along a VM....but now I have a reason.)
