Hi all, my hammer is missing the tiny ball bearings for the safety mechanism. Does anyone know what size they are or if I am able to get them from a hardware store, or any other places? Thanks in advance. -HyePower

Ill get a measurement as soon as I'm back near my vm. Being sheridan, I wonder if its around the dog tag ball size.

Pull the pump nozzle off a small bottle of liquid hand soap, I use Softsoap, although they've started using plastic balls in some now. The cheaper brands still use steel balls. There is another inside the pump under the spring. The springs also make good LP tippmann springs.

I use Softsoap too, I opened it up and all I saw was one big ball bearing at the bottom. I'll check some shampoo bottles or some other soap nozzles. I'll also check out my dogtag chain and see how that goes.

It's not the bottom, but the flat nozzle part at the top pops off the pump arm. I was mistaken on the Softsoap though ... that was for the bolt choke ball bearing. I got the tiny arse hammer ball bearing out of one of my wife's little wrinkle cream pumps. I recycle ... the hard part is trying not to rip apart all my wifes pump gizmo's before she's finished with them

I realize that this is a very old thread, but since this is the official repository of all things VM, I thought my experience might help others. Last weekend I found out that the ball bearings in the female quick-disconnect fitting on many high-pressure air remote lines are a perfect fit for the VM's lower bolt/hammer safety collar. Of course, I only learned this after my bolt disassembled itself during a two-day scenario game and the original ball bearing went flying off into the woods. I know that the VM manual doesn't specifically recommend using Loctite on your lower bolt assembly...but I do! |
