So I received a free VM-68 from my boss 2 days ago. I took it home, cleaned and oiled it up, aired it up and no leaks at all. I'm impressed. There are very little scratches on it, and it is in pristine condition. But I have some questions. Where can I get a Back ASA for it? How do I adjust the velocity using the valve, and not the bolt? Where can I buy a new spring for it? How much do these markers run at now-a-days? I have a synthetic stock that I would love to drop the VM into, is there anyway that I can do this? Thanks for the information.

Same thing for a new mainspring. I believe you can also replace the old mainspring with an automag mainspring behind the hammer, but I don't recall if you can just drop it in or not. Quote:

FOr something like a Car-15 stock, some have had luck using a simple plug from a hardware store to adapt the stock. FOrtunetly, with the VM, there is tons of places to attach things. The metal is so thick, and there are tons of space everywhere.

Now I was reading about the Automag spring, but I was a little confused. You put it behind the hammer. How would that work? Because the main spring in mine is about 6" long, and I have an automag spring that is 2" long.

Its mostly a "drop in" mod. You just have to play around with removing the bumper, and trying a differnt size screw, etc. (so that your cocking knob still works). I ran mine with an automag spring since 1994 or so. It also makes setting up an external FPS adjuster trivial. Just drill/tap a hole through the lower plug, and thread in a bolt that can adjust spring tension.
