I am considering adding an old school angle to my collection, of these 3 what would you recommend and why? I know very little about angels as I was more into cockers and mags back when the led/lcd were popular so I kinda missed everything with these. But now that years have passed and prices have dropped I figure why not try one out, and it's kinda a must have for the early electronic portion of my modest retro gun collection.

Tough to say. Many Angels have been modified to the point where someones LCD might have eyes, where as someone elses IR3 still has COPS. So even though the IR3 is newer technology it may actually be a step behind someones older LCD. You should give us more information, like if you want something unique like an Adrenaline or Eclipse, something as close to original as possible, etc... |

lcd. don't have to worry about lp. there are several options for modding newer boards. or battery mods. i also preferred the 45 frames to the space frames.and there wont be a hole in the bottom of the breach.

i agree on lcd. Parts easier to get. More options, and some really nice private labels.

I've really enjoyed the IR3 I picked up from Russc. Been modded with a PM board so it runs a 9v. Great semi shooter, and the 90* frame points really nicely.

Definitely LCDs! Alot of variety in the bodies and there's almost endless possibilities in terms of which parts you want to use. I have an aluminum ram and a shaved down SS hammer coupled with a tornado valve from AKA in mine, shoots fantastic; even when compared to newer poppets. |

Thanks for all the replies, looking for something nice that is not drilled for eyes. Also I am more interested in base guns, private label guns often look great but sell for more than I really want to spend. I like the looks of the LCD a little more and thus am leaning more in that direction but still won't rule out an IR3 if the price is right.

If you want true old school you get a LED. LCD will always be "newer" school.
