Can I salvage this?

I just received a Rasta A4 Fly in the mail from an eBay auction, and when I pulled it out the box it looked like this...

Everything else matched up to the pictures on the auction but I can't even get a barrel on it. What can/should I do?

yikes.. there have been a couple people that had this issue in the past i think they cam up with using like a spike shapped tool to hammer in until it was close and then ran a tap threw it again.

An expanding mandrel may work. You could make one from a wooden dowel. Look at the FIGG diagrams somewhere in the custom section for an example if what im talking about.

Good Luck!

i've fixed barrels/bodys from that before, but thats pretty extreme.

i use steel gauge pins

insert largest size that will fit, wiggle, go up a few sizes, repeat, until its back to the correct size, then chase it with a tap

i dont have an angel tap.... you might be able to screw a barrel in slowly to chase the threads, idk....

Yeah...I wasn't sure I saw a happy ending here. I've contacted Bob at fixmyangel to see if there's anything he might be able to do. The soft touch bolt is missing the flexible tip and it leaks out of the flash tank seal, so there's more than a few things that are wrong here

Only one man!

The only man I know, who is a wizard with markers in Doc Nickel. Give him a call. He has never done work for me, but his results are seen by just about all of the paintball community.

If u do get it fixed, and no tap, run a stainless back on it with some oil

davehome333 03-26-2013 10:31 AM

how does that happen?

nose dive onto the concrete?

BrettEAS 03-26-2013 03:48 PM

Only if it happened with the barrel off, the barrel itself was fine!

In any case, thanks for the ideas. Luckily the seller was cool and gave me a complete refund. I guess he's taking it up with the post office. I just couldn't see the investment of getting it fixed outweighing what I'd get out of it in the end.
