AUTOMOTIVE SACRILEGE!!!!!! I must smite you on the 26th now

it is an auto reference, to a Mopar big block engine. My favorite '66 Fury had a 383 that I rebuilt and had punched out .040 over - hence 'bored383'

that was a long time ago - neat car, and since I didn't have power brakes I went crazy with the cam since I didn't have to worry about vacuum issues. and I bumped the CR up a bit too . . . it had a brutal idle, that classic big block lumpy rumble

and with a 3000stall converter and 4.10's was a hoot off the line

not my craziest project car, but awesome for hauling people

Forgive me; GM and Chrysler didn't have the good sense to have differing CI measurements on their engines. At least with the 350 and 351 you knew which maker you were talking about...

My most fun one was a 400 SB into a '91 S10. Spray-bombed, 8" cowl, fenderwalls cut out so the headers could clear, the whole deal... 3800 stall converter with the peg-legged rear and 290 rubber (liked to get squirrely when the weather even thought about raining). I thought GM because a coworker had an S10 with a 383 stroker who liked to talk smack - until I blew his doors off with a pass nearly 2.5 seconds faster than his.

But you're right, mea culpa; obviously if it was "bored" it couldn't be a stroker.

Ford had a 383 also - used in the mercury marauder in the late 60's - and the Chrysler B series V8's, which the 383 is part of, started with a 350

drag racing was fun - for a time I did well with bracket racing, racing a stick shift

For real man that's how movies work. "Take everything you know about real life, and throw it to the pigs"

On an off note: I can't tell you how many times i thought to myself "man I wanna punch that dude in the throat" When I see your avatar. That guy is the master of knowing nothing about anything concerning everything, from like war history to space and well, "random probability waves". At least I think so.

heh, the 'random probability waves' is a line from one of my favorite books

that ancient aliens dude lives in o-side, I see him driving around in a sunfire every now and then . . . and thats why I have him as my avatar
