$95 for that? That's questionable, really. Could make a sweet "holy crap, look at that old Cocker" gun for the field.

The problem is, those aged Cockers used to need a lot of parts added to make them perform at the level you'd expect.

Have to see more of what is going on with it. In the end, though, would make a sweet old Sniper2 with a nice pump kit on it. Chunky back block, and all.

I have one...I made a pump out of it, put an MQ in it...very quiet.

those older bodies are smoother internally than newer 2000s

also snipers can have pneus, i mean they are called sniper2 autocockers

Why do you think they are smoother? I've never noticed any difference in older bodies and newer bodies, besides the extra weight, ball detent, etc.

the machining was better before the IVG was standard imo, some bodies i can see how the tool path starts early making rings before it gets to the back of the body to cut the threads

Ahh, so you are talking lower tube then? That could be, i guess. Not had any issues personally, but never really checked either.

no one can feel the "issue" unless they know what the best is

Hehe, you weren't kidding. I took at look at both the upper and lower tubes on my 2k4 and my '93 and man, the '93 looks way better in terms of surface quality and tolerances. In fact, the chamber for the bolt is offset from the the barrel threads by like 1/16th of an inch on my 2k4. This probably explains why I have to shim my ball detent with multiple o-rings to keep it from gouging the bolt.

Maybe I get this thing milled and lightened and turn it into my main shooter.

yeah now imagine if you polished the body and your hammer

then think about if you were able to reduce the mass needed to open the valve and used a teflon(PTFE) or delrin(acetal resin) sleeve around the hammer

aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh suki suki

Looks like the die on that extruder was used a bit too much. I've never owned any body post 98 that wasn't a custom mill or an evolution. I love this place, learn something new every visit.
