The original stock WGP reg (not the black magic, karnivore, or ergo reg) is just fine. I reccommend you fashion yourself a pressure tester, set the reg to 325 psi and then use the rear IVG to change your velocity.
Another real possibility is the trend of the paint bore size getting smaller. You did not mention if you are sizing your barrel and paint correctly. Smaller paint through a large bore will equal lower velocity.
