i bought a new bolt for my prostock sniper and it is too big to fit. the length is fine but it wont fit inside the gun. will sanding it down ruin the bolt?

What type of bolt is it? JAM bolts are pretty tight and I turned mine down with a teeny wood mill and some find sandpaper. I've not seen other bolts bee too tight before, typically under by about .003 or more.

Are there any burrs or anything that could be keeping the bolt from going in? Do you have a caliper to see what the OD is on the bolt? IIRC, the ID on my WGP bodies is .689.

All you lose with a sanded bolt is efficiency. Unless you sand the air port...

well a sanded bolt that fits my gun will be more efficient than no bolt at all...

Well, a pin that is press fit into a hole isn't supposed to move. That doesn't really describe a bolt in a paintball gun. /sarcasm

I vote for a little bit of sanding. Take your time and check often enough that you don't get a huge gap. It'll probably take a little while with higher grit paper anyway. You could start with courser stuff until you can shove it in there and then move to smooth stuff to make the bolt nice. At that point it might be just right.
