ANS GX3 stock pressure

Building a new sniper from an ANS GX3 body with what I'm pretty sure are stock internals, using a bob long 360 reg. Pressure recommendations?

just sweet spot the reg, there is no "set" perfect pressure. I don't even run a gauge on any of my guns, learned a LONG time ago it was a waste of space, add weight and a terribly inaccurate way to set up your gun.

I have a GX-2 (I think) reg and replaced the spring pack with an air america low pressure spring pack, made the reg much more cocker friendly especially with modern or after market valves.

I hear the term "sweet spot" the reg, or gun used frequently but really do not know exactly what it refers to or how to do it. Could someone please enlighten me?
Thanks

Ok it sweetspotted at 260 (field limit), with the IVG backed all the way out and the reg set at a hair under 200 psi. It's being a bit of a gas hog, and if I go any higher than that the velocity jumps up to 300-350 fps. Not sure what to do now.

It sounds like it could use a lighter hammer spring.

the main spring is actually very light, I think I need a different valve spring, just not sure if that means heavier or lighter?

Heavier valve spring if you want to go that route.

you don't sweet spot for a specific velocity that is just wrong. If it's being a gas hog your pressure is too low and the valve is opening too far and wasting gas.

set the IVG 2 turns in from flush.
back the pressure off and make small adjustments until the velocity starts to go back down.
then back the pressure down in VERY small adjustments until the velocity stops going up
it DOES NOT matter what the velocity is right now
you have matched the pressure to the valve and springs.

now use the IVG to adjust the velocity

make SURE you have a GOOD paint to barrel match if not your peeing into the wind.

btw ignore your pressure gauge, better yet take it off completely.
