help : OLD BRASS 3-way sticking
I have a friends cocker Im working on--- oldschool mechanical slider type
and the 3way is the old brass style with 2 o-rings on the stem. this type is the one w/o the retention clip.
anywho, the stem seems to have a lot of resistence. Ive removed it and visually inspected the stem and 3way internals -- liberally lubed etc -- and I see no reason for the continued resistance. There is no leaking. The orings seems in good shape and I dont seem any signes of wear or damage.
I would tell him to order up a Hollowpoint or Bomb - but Im hoping some gnome-savy tech on this site may have a a tip or two

Have you looked inside the 3way body? I've had a few collect enough gunk inside to bind up the shaft a bit. On the old brass ones I've even shined up the inside with a bit of Brasso and a couple Q tips.

For craps sake stop using white lithium grease!
Air tool oil! Air tool oil! Air tool oil ONLY in your mech guns!
ESPECIALLY if ever using CO2. White lithium grease plus CO2 = chewing gum.
