To remove the hammer you have to insert a Allen key into the small hole on the spine of the gun( behind the feedneck) and screw the hammer lug all the way in. Then it should slide all the way out. Next with the frame off remove the valve retaining screw (on the under side of the body) then the valve should also slide out. Looks to me like an older ccm frame

ok i was able to get the ics hammer out. which is where all the black dirt/oil is coming from. i removed the lug nut and cleaned that out which was a mess, the teflon tape was black and white, it was nasty in there. i also noticed a plastic "screw" in the hammer. what does that do. its in rough shape and i would like to know if i should replace it or not. i assume its needed but i can't figure out why.

when i removed the valve retaining screw the valve & spring are still wedged in there pretty good. do they come out the front or the back like the hammer did?

Out the back- when I did mine I had the front block off so I just pushed it with a squeegee to get it moving then it came right out
