e1 cocker worth $100?

Today I went to pro shop to get a leak repaired on an e1 cocker I just bought off ebay. When I told the tech I bought and knew there was a leak, he said "I hope you got for REAL cheap". I said $240 with a freak set. He looked all suprised and said "are you kidding me? They are worth like $100. And now the company makes egos." I said "no its worth more than that." He tops it off by saying "well you can sell it someone just like you." I felt kind of offended at what he just said. It got me to think.
Can you guys tell me how much this set is worth/how much you would pay?

03 Prostock
e1 frame
BL torpedo reg
tickler reg
delrin bolt
Shocktech drop
SP on/off
Freak set
Redz soft gun case
*edit*pair of Eclipse QEV's

Thanks

Er, I'm fairly sure you can pull $125-ish for a working E1 frame/noid, forget the marker... $150 if you've got a nice board and it's in good shape. Take into account the Freak kit ($90ish) and the gun case and accesories, and you're looking at $200 to $250.

Now I haven't seen or fired your marker, so I can't say whether you got a good deal, but I can say that the guy at you're local store is an idiot. I've actually found quite often that the guys behind the desk at field shops (if they're younger) don't have any respect for markers over 3-4 years old... The fact is that a lot of the young guys started playing with a Timmy or a Matrix and therefore have no appreciation for older markers because they're not "Super Light" or "Super Fast" or pink or some **** like that.

Be satisfied with your purchase, and keep in mind that you could sell the frame along from your marker for at least $100.

Thank you A.C. you made my day, and yes the tech was younger (18-20) but im 14. I love the older guns especially cockers. I remember since I was 9, I wanted an autococker. But thanks for re-assuring me, it helps a lot

well, his reference to the ego's makes me wonder if he thought you payed that much for just the frame. I'd say you did ok on price, and are just a victim of the anti-cocker crowd.

Tell him to leave a note that any time a used E cocker comes into their store they should give you a call - you'll pay them way above market price - $125.

you paid what the gun was worth.

I honestly haven't seen an E-blade go for less than 90 on Ebay in a while. I think it's safe to assume you got a decent deal. 03 were decent bodies, too, before quality started getting iffy.

I say, toss a pair of QEVs on the ram, and you're gonna have a great time.

One more upgrade you need is to find out where the douchenozzle working behind the counter plays, and mow him (repeatedly) with your "way overpriced" marker. The kid obviously needs to go back to PBN and so some research, or maybe look at eBay once in a while. Considering '05 SuperStocks were selling ~$150 new and have the vastly inferior SF frame, stock barrel and no upgrades, there's no way an upgraded marker, even an '03, with an E-blade of either vintage (which typically sell for >$100 ALONE on eBay) is overpriced at $240 unless it's severely broken. You should complain to the manager of that store.

People that think they know what they are talking about but really don't piss me off, but people that have attitudes about it and belittle people (especially a 14 year old, I mean..come on, way to keep younger players in the game by making them feel stupid ) piss me off even more. People wonder why local shops have a hard time staying in business, it may be in part due to the fact that they employ know-it-all 17 year olds that can't give intelligent advice, fill a tank properly, or even be bothered not to be a dick to a customer. At least a cold impersonal website doesn't try to make you feel like a dumbass.

One you did fine in your purchase, two maybe the joker tech thought he could swindle you for a hundred bucks and turn it around for himself...third do was Mayvik said and mow him once or twice and make sure he knows it was you not that I have ever did such a thing
