| Uuuugh, I'm starting to remember why I sold my cockers... Help! Alright, so a few months back I purchased Carters 1996 WGP autococker, I have only as of early last month had time to start working on it to get it running. However, I am running into so big problems now. First it was leaking from every nook and cranny that held air, no biggy, its old, fixed that. I am plegued with recocking issues, blowing hoses, and LPR problems to this day. At first I could not get the velocity up to a reasonably FPS, I tried using the IVG, but the LPR would not feed enough air to cock it, so I raised the LPR, I got close to it actually recocking when it blew the LPR hose off of the three-way, along with sending a brass collar into my forehead. When I got the nerve to fix that and try again I tried turning down the IVG as well, this got it to cock, but when the sear released the hammer it would barely even 'punt' and hiss, the trigger would not come forward when it was aired up until I pushed it forward, thus it leaked air badly. Now I'm back to the same problems, I cant get it to recock, when I raise the input pressure it blows hoses, and adjusting the IVG leads to either extremely low FPS(As i not even registering on chronos.) or actually getting it to what I think might be a decent FPS, but it wont cock on its own. Now I'm noticing little fleeting leaks around the three-way and the nipples on it. coming and going whether or not I actually have a hand on the trigger to even budge it. Please help me, this is very annoying and I would like to get my marker running.

| what is your input? HPA? CO2? Inline reg? someone can correct me if I am wrong but try this If you have an inline reg try this. turn your IVG out half way and LPR down a bit. then turn the inline reg up from no pressure (backed all the way out) to a pressure that will get you close to a close velocity adjust the IVG to fine tune the Velocity. the LPR pressure should be pretty low. about 80-110 PSI and not be blowing off hoses and still have enough to cock it. too much input pressure will also make the valve not open all the way so start with the inline reg backed all the way out, LPR at about 1/4 strength, and IVG about halfway in. not to doubt you but make sure your bolt is in correct. (I still screw that up)

Its a HPA tank, PMI, and a CP inline regulator, Now I know it was set up for Co2 direct, but I dont even want to try that seeing how easily it blows a gasket(Literally.).

| I have a 1992 cocker that is essentially the same as yours, and I also have rebuilt it numerous times. I've had all of these problems. We need more information. Is your LPR on the front block externally adjustable? If not, I suggest you get one that is, such as the excellent palmer's rock. Autocockers of that vintage were designed to run on CO2 unregulated, although I may be mistaken, but the point is, you're going to need pressures of 700-800psi to get your cocker to function. Does your CP reg only go up to 600psi? you may need to replace it with a reg that can go higher than that. An inline reg putting out 180-200 psi is just way too low. You may need about 700-800psi going into the marker through the vert asa. In fact, if you are using HPA, you could just have a gas through grip. A good inline reg that can adjust to the pressure range you need will give you better control over the marker's velocity. the trigger not going forward is either too high pressure in the LPR or the much worse situation of a bent 3-way rod. In the latter case, even an imperceptible bend will cause this malfunction and require the rod to be replaced. Not a fun time. stay strong, brah. I've been there. But after you have worked on an autococker, you'll be able to understand and work on every other marker out there. In the mean time, read the articles at moody's: [Tech Articles] : Moody Paintball |

Now the three-way is starting to act very funny, its still leaking in that fleeting manor, but now from time to time during shots when the marker fires and it does come forward again it spews air, not little puffs like It should, I mean it gushes air until I pull the trigger again, which it generally sticks back that time, other times it will just leak for a second or two.

| Know where I can get a rebuild for one? I want to say its an original Sledgehammer, but I cant be sure if there wasn't a pre-dating LPR to that.

| well if the lpr is screwed up then the pressure in the 3 way will be as well. it could just be too high of a pressure. I would do one at a time LPR then 3-way if needed.
