yeah, that makes sense. I was wondering if a little lip would cause it to occasionally chop a ball.. I mean, its a sharp edge that the bolt is pressing a ball against.. seems like that might be a bad thing..

the little lip at the edge could be a problem id think for very fragile paint but most paint it wont matter or anything with duel detents it wont matter because all fragile paint is so small the detents would keep it away from the edge. especially in a pump situation i dont think any little lip will do damage but im always skeptical to cut off the site rail before i press the neck back in. (ive done ego feednecks two of my cockers on my little lathe) bu i think the site rail on both sides adds strength to the press fit, and if its cut down to bottom out before it goes down to far and the rail is gone it might be on the weaker side as far as press fits go.

but yea id be for a couple just for future applications or id really like someone to just make a low rise and have it so i can just go and buy a ccm clamp (the actual clamping part not the whole neck cause they sell them) and have the lowest rise possible on a cocker.

thank you with the lathe i have setup right now i could never turn anything that needs to be in a tolerance for a press fit application, and my self taught machining isnt good for something with critical tolerances with my old pos

I would be interested in this. I have at least two cockers that would benefit from lower feednecks. I also wouldnt mind if I could get someone to do the work for me. I really wouldnt mind if someone could also mill some sightrails off while changing feednecks.
