Probably not rusty - stock bolts are made from aluminum. Could be the factory lube, or something that the previous owner used.

Yeah, closer examination shows that it's not rust, but it is nasty, the o-rings are dry, and it's giving off a grey residue.

does it smell weird? lol.. I have a bolt I could send your way, its white delrin has orings, and is for a post 2k cocker.. just cover shipping and a few bucks and its yours.. great condition
