| Canuck | WGP frame, set screws? What exactly are those two set screws for? I have an omega roller sear kit and as far as I can tell the only thing they do is make the trigger action not smooth....

| They take out extra slack in the trigger plate movement. Tightening them too much will make the plate bind. A little tiny bit of slop is ok, as it keeps it smoother than with no slop at all. It's how I tune it. Depending on the tolerances, and the trigger plate, you may not need to use those set screws at all. They're there to account for the individual tolerance differences between plates and frames. If you really want smooth, consider polishing the sides of the plate. It makes a noticeable difference, especially on the rough omega plate. |

| The trigger can wiggle side to side, and also up and down. Those screws stop the up and down wiggle, which can feel like slack or take-up, and add to the pull length. Since the actuating shaft moves horizontally, the vertical movement of the trigger does nothing for it. Take a look at the set screws themselves, you may want to round off the tops with a file, or at least remove any sharp edges that could bite into the plate. Also a little dab of teflon grease or paste really helps out. To adjust them, start with the front. Screw it in untill you can feel it drag on the trigger plate, then back it off a CH. Go to the back screw and do the same. Now re check the front screw and you are set. Your goal is no vertical travel in your trigger pull. |
