Trigger Pull Help

I have a 2001 cocker with a slider trigger frame. I have been working on the trigger pull for the last 3 months and cannot get it right. No matter what I do it still short strokes and double loads at least 10 times a day when I am playing. often times this will end up breaking a ball in my barrel. I have recently put in a belsales rolling trigger sear and that helped a bit but it is still a problem. Any ideas on how to solve or improve this problem?

first try making your trigger pull longer to see if it a mechanical issue or "operator error". I know sometimes if I time mine too short, when I really get rocking on the trigger I can short stroke it. It could also be that your LPR is turned down a bit too low, which lets you fire a few shots alright, but chokes on longer bursts.

I would start by making your trigger pull on the long-ish side - set your lug to drop early and 3-way to trigger late - then play that way for a while. You'll have to consciously shoot slowly and pull full trigger pulls. As you get used to this shorten your trigger pull each time you play - you'll develop a great stroke and then get fast.
