Hello all! I have a good opportunity to pick up what is thought to be a Minimag. I have looked at several other Minimags and this one is just not looking right. I am not too knowledgeable when it comes to Mags, all I have is My Tac One...so any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance! Here are the pics! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If it is worth something, about how much? Thanks in advance! |

Right Feed, twistlock body, with classic valve (valve may be lasered as a Minimag valve, can't tell from pictures) Taso barrel Benchmark grip VA/ with large expansion chamber. It's a good starter mag. Normal price is somewhere between 100 and 120. Good deal is sub $80 It's not what I would call a Minimag because it doesn't have a minimag body.

I thought that was a Smart Parts Venturi barrel. And the big black site rail on the top is probably what is throwing you off on looks. Like VF-XX said its a standard right feed automag body, the minimag is the body that had the machine gun shroud looking front. And yeah for $75 as long as it is working and you have the cash I would say pick it up.

Those Benchmark frames were great. A bit more movement on a trigger than a dialed-in intelliframe, but build to last. I prefer the single finger over the double... great buy at $75. Makes a heck of a loaner if nothing else.

When mags actually had value about 8 years ago, everyone universally hated the benchmark frames for the sloppiness they created in the trigger pull. People preferred the standard plastic frames to them. The frame itself is really comfortable but they basically ruined the trigger setup. They work, but weirdly and basically slower than a spyder. It was such a bummer too because the doubles were available long before the intelliframe, but were inadequate. I frame just has the same geometry as the stock mag frame but in a double trigger package. Oh well. Great gun ya got there, no doubt. |
