Unknown automag/minimag rail?

As some of you may know, I bought most of the kapp inventory from the warehouse after it closed down. I was going through some boxes in my free time and found this. It looks like a prototype rail for an automag/minimag but I can not tell for sure.

Does anyone have any information on this rail? I have been searching the internet for the past hour and have yet to find anything like this. It is raw aluminum and looks like it just got off of the mill. Did KAPP ever make an automag rail? Any information would be great!

Thanks! Any idea on the rarity of them or the value?

Not to sure on the value or rarity. The one you have looks unfinished? I would say $50 for a start if you wanted to sell it.

I was told it was a prototype rail, but I really don't know.

Benchmark had one, and I believe it to be similar to this one. I can't find any pics of theirs to confirm, though. Robertsr would probably know for sure.

I do not have a clue where that term came from. The first time I saw it called that was earlier this year. I think someone just made that up. I know even on Benchmarks webpage back when they were still selling these that the were NOT called that.
