Mokal Mirage did I get a good price.

Well I was browsing ebay and I came across a mokal mirage did some research and sprang for it . But ending up paying $17.30 16.00 shipping and got a brass eagle eradicator figure I can use it as a loner gun. Did I get hurt on this one or did I come throught okay. I mostly got it because it looked like a pretty cool looking early semi .It looks to be in pretty minty condition. Also what kind of gas effenc do these get ,and do they like HPA?

Sorry, this one seems to have slipped past us. Mirages are great markers, especially at the price you picked it up at. They're an inline blow-back constructed in much the same way as the early tippmann carbine series of markers (Pro-Am through Pro-Carbine). I just worked on the other day at the local Pev's. The tech there didn't know anything about them (shame really). The linkage arm is under the shiny metal strip that runs down the bottom left side of the marker. It's an under-side linkage instead of the top-side linkage you find in most tippmann clones. They're solid shooters.

Yeah, I noticed that there is about silch in the way of information on the internet about them other than they are solid markers and the posts that show up from PBN kiddies (8th grade filter on) Ya mmn thr like aniteue thell blow up.(off)
They look amazingly like pro lites with out the foregrip. And they are not a clone of anything correct ,because I was looking around and I saw some people say they were tippmann clones but there are no interchangeable parts.

Same deal with the Sheridan XTS, sans the slipfit barrel... They're great shooters, very low maintenence. I picked up a lot of them on eBay a year or so back and once I washed the greasy old paint out of them, they shot fine (no need for new O-rings, even).

Oh yeah I forgot about those always saw them never shot one though. There is one on ebay I am temted by it but I am saving my money for a 68 special a traccer pump clone and a splatmaster.

But speaking of the traccer pumps that is what I was looking for when I got the mirage but they were always ending while I was away I got sniped or they went up to a +50 price tag and now since I have gotten this four have sold for under $30.00 kind of grinds my gears. Sorry had to vent a bit.

Adding something on a member just pm'd these to me

According to vintage rex, they use a montneel valve system. But that would mean the linkage would go through the valve, which they don't. It's not really a clone of an inline tippmann as the parts aren't interchangeable (I think the linkage arm is, and maybe the bolt) but the way it is put together, like the sheridan semi-series, is reminiscent of the tippmann inline system.

I wonder if I could donate a picture of my gun to the museum after the tape is taking off and the gun is restored to new condition as the feeding elbow and hopper is origional from what the seller says.

Montneels don't have the linkage through the valve. There was a montneel descendent/clone that did, but not the originals. They were delayed blowback, linkage was on top and was spring return. Mokals didn't have delayed blowback, but the valve more closely resembles a montneel valve than a tippmann. This is because the valve and powertube are one piece in the mokal and montneel. Either way I wouldn't exactly call the mokal a clone of either, but a similar inline design to both. It is a nice relatively bulletporof blowback from what I hear, fwiw

Then I would call it a Mokal valve.
