Maybe a "ranger"?

Ok, so i was looking on my local craigslist page and found this

http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/spo/246982503.html

He says it says "ranger" on it. Could this be a WGP Ranger? If not, what is it? $30 seems like it could be a sweet deal on some old school pump goodness.

looks like a Kingman Hammer, I could see how hammer could get missread as ranger if it were partially rubber off. If so, its worth about the asking price, no more.

DarkNinja 12-12-2006 06:42 PM

Its not a Ranger, at least not one I have seen, I am going with Hammer. Its definatly worth $30 with the tank and all. Nice little pump that takes Spyder barrels.

edit: damn, got beat to it!

Yeah, i looked at some other pics of Kingman Hammers, and that's what it looks like to me. Good call guys!

So do you think it would be worth picking up as a backup marker and for pump play? Are they reliable?

HurtCow 12-12-2006 09:37 PM

I have one. They're nice reliable Nelson-based guns. Mine has brass internals and adjustable velocity via bolt face.

HP_Lovecraft 12-14-2006 11:16 PM

All the rangers I've seen had ugly sheridan-style trigger frames, which woul never be confused for one of these.
The grip frame is not taso or Kingman either.

I'd say its a Deringer or Deringer Mach2.
They had the same Bushy-style frame and pump as seen in the picture, and the name "Deringer" is probobly the closed to Ranger as you an get.

Hey those ugly AGD / WGP 1 hole frames had most nelsons beat, at least they had bottomline mounts =/

HP_Lovecraft 12-23-2006 04:22 PM

Bah. I tracked down a TFX-2000 from England, and it has those grips. No likely, though at least there are aftermarket grips still floating around.
