It looks like a J&J but it's not for a bushy or a Z1.
The groove would be closer to the end of the barrel.

Didn't one of the early tippies have a slip fit? Like the pump? Or have I been drinking again...

Not a Bushy/Montneel, slip fit notch is to far forward. Early tippy's were slip fit, but were not notched. Not a Taso typhoon either, that looks closer to the bushy. Maybe a Line SI Advantage? I know they're diff then the bushy's, but I've never seen one so that's just a guess/possibility.

The Advantage had a shorter sleeve, but the groove is in the same spot as the pumps, so it couldnt be that.

Could be Tippmann 68-Special or SL-68? That J&J barrel dates to the early 90s, so it would make sense.

There were also a bunch of slip-fit guns in the early 90s? TM-117, and Stinger? Maybe one of those?

TM didn't have a grove, and the barrel was 7/8ths, not one inch. Might be a Stinger/Scorpion. We have someone on the board that has one for sale right now that might be able to confirm...
