Groz Jack Plane #5 $30 obo

I have a Groz brand Jack Plane #5 for sale. I have listed the price as $30 obo plus shipping. If you feel my price is too high then hit me up with an offer. This bench plane is brand new, never used. This would be used for heavy stock removal when preparing sawn timber prior to final finishing. You can see grease in one of the pictures and do not be alarmed, that is how the manufacturer packages it so it will not rust.

Taken directly from their website, Groz Tools

"Highest Quality Bench planes, engineered to exacting tolerances while maintaining traditional standards of workmanship, design & performance

Groz planes have fine & robust Grey Cast Iron bases which are accurately machined & ground to high precision. Sole is flat to 0.003"(0.075mm). Spring steel cutter blade is hardened to 55 +/- 5 HRC and hones quickly to a razor sharp, long lasting edge. Accurately machined blade seating eliminates blade "chatter". Fully adjustable frog provides the required setting for the specific job.

Attractive hardwood handle and knob with brass adjusting nut and screw heads makes this a favorite with the discerning woodworker."

Here are some pictures.

These are great low-mid end planes. For the prices its hard to beat GROZ , I actually have this exact modle and use it for setting the bevel on doors and all kinds of other tasks.

Thanks for the comment. This was given to me as a present a couple of years ago because I was building a row boat, but had all the tools available to me already. I recently came across it while cleaning out the spare bedroom.

Not really interested, but you built a rowboat? That sounds fun.

Yeah, there was a Popular Mechanics article with instructions a couple of years ago. I thought it would be fun.

Sorry, no pictures of it. In hindsight I wish I would have. It was damaged in transport beyond repair at one point and given a viking funeral. I had fun and eventually when I get a place of my own I will give it another go.
