Rock Climbing "Cordless" Large Bouldering Pad in San Diego

Rock Climbing "Cordless" Large Bouldering Pad - $125

This pad is the "world standard" in bouldering pads and sadly out of production for a couple years. 48" x 41" x 3" thick. Dark grey, "carpet" upholstery top, durable black cordura nylon body with wrap around flap with zipper pocket. Three, configurable, foam inserts allow you to change the impact absorbtion properties depending on your preferences or "high ball" needs. Folds up like a tortilla and has integrated backpack straps to carry from boulder to boulder.

The pad saw no use, I bought it, didn't get to use it, and left it at a friend's in San Diego where and has been in storage. It was kept "open" so there's no "permanent crease in the foam." Pad in great shape and ready to go.

I can arrange for you to pick it up in San Diego, near Sea World.

Do most boulderers run some kind of pad? I just saw something like that at an outdoor store and thought it had to be for bouldering but seemed odd.

Yes, even a 5' fall can easily break wrists and ankles. This is also good for those areas where your landing zone has a rock or branch in the middle.

Mostly it's climbing without ropes, generally under 15-20 feet to try to be safe, and there are a lot of large boulders in southern CA so the term "bouldering" came about.

Someone who knows more will give you a better definition.

It's when you rock climb near ground level with out any type of device to arrest a fall. The pad will definately save an ankle or worse. I used to climb quite a bit (before kids and wife) and boldering was the best way to go by yourself if you couldn't get a climbing buddy to belay you. That is a nice pad and a good price enjoy it.

Hmm would work good in the back of a station wagon or truck at a Drive in too!
