they emailed me back and gave me the old "this was an extremely popular item and we oversold' line of crap.
they continued to take orders for 5 more days after they took my order. and mine got cancelled as "we oversold". sorry first strike, no dice. lost a customer for good.

Stay on them they have to honor that price it’s law. They even took payment.
Strait from the Federal Trade Commission “Under the law, claims in advertisements must be truthful, cannot be deceptive or unfair, and must be evidence-based.”

I hate to say this, but the law only applies if you can afford to sue them. It's not like you just call the police for this. An $80 air tank isn't worth the retainer fee for any lawyer.
So basically they can do whatever they want at the moment.

they are copy/pasting responses in e-mails and phone call to talk to them cost money since they are in ontario and they don't have a toll free number.
reports to FTC work but if it's not an american company nothing will probably get done.

Originally posted by EraseANS was very quick to refund me when I asked after ordering one, to be fair I was probably a bit harsh on them about shipping with FedEx. Not many stores in US where I have looked into buying a tank or reg from even offer USPS and if they do its the cost of shipping a marker to Canada. I just feel blindsided by the “ free shipping “ .I wanted the FS tank but if i got hit with a bunch of fees when I think its free, it would have left a sour taste in my mouth, just be transparent and its all good.
So yeah, what ANS is offering is actually a pretty sweet deal when other places want $20 shipping and there will still be UPS, FedEx, DHL fees.
When I tried this I had to call UPS multiple times and never did get the information I requested. Then the UPS driver came to the door with the package (instead of holding it until duty payment). He said I either had to pay on the spot or it would be marked as rejected and returned to sender (he is actually supposed to bring it back to the warehouse where they hold it until the paperwork is filed or the brokerage fees are paid). I ended up paying at the door and got (most) of the brokerage fee refunded after a few months and a few more calls to their call center. Overall I don't have any faith that UPS is competent enough to actually get this procedure right. Even if I did get that paperwork as I should have, I doubt they would have acknowledged that the duty was paid, or the package would have just gotten lost in the system while waiting at the warehouse. So try this at your own risk. There are a bunch of stories online where people do this successfully but in this case everything went wrong from the outset. F UPS and all other scammy couriers.

I ordered one of the scout rifles last Friday and mine still just says “manual verification needed”. I emailed ANS Thursday and asked if the order had processed but I’ve heard nothing at all. I’m beginning to feel like those are going to go the same route and I will end up with a refund.
I don’t know that I’ve ever ordered through ANS where I didn’t have some sort of issue though. I feel like it should have been pretty easy to put stock limits on items and just sell until you run out, but I guess that’s asking a lot.

well someone from first strike actually wrote to me.
i pointed out they still kept taking orders for 5 days even though the stock was long gone. all they can come up with as a response is "we know we oversold and refunded as fast as possible. thank you."
they have no intention of honoring this price to anyone unless you have yours in hand right now.
i let sales rep know ANS is playing same game with my money for same product, as though they have access either on hand or en transit. FS guy said that's ANS's issue talk to them.
that settles it, they don't care about customer service so they are off my list of products to use. they simply do not care how they represent themselves or how vendors represent them.

well looks like ANS is shipping bottle/Scout/FS rounds out today, they just got a few pallets from FS in overnight.
talked to ANS rep and he said they should ship out today. fingers crossed.
looks like FS made available stock for sale on their website that was actually already owed to ANS.
