    Printed Phantom Grip Phrames

I'm making up some printed grip frames for phantoms, a 90 degree grip and a 15 degree forward grip. I'll have pictures up when they're finished up.

If interested, I'm looking at $30pp'd+shipping for the frame, $40pp'd+shipping for the frame and covers, lower 48 only. Please post here before PMing me if you're interested. These will be made to order, so with shipping should be around a week to arrive.

Mods, if I've missed something and this isn't allowed, please let me know and delete this.

    Edit:
    Prices are as follows:
    • 90 or Y grip with covers, no screws in normal PLA, $40 pp’d + shipping
    • 90 or Y grip with covers, no screws in 20% carbon filled, $65 pp’d + shipping
    • 90 or Y grip with no covers or screws in normal PLA, $30 pp’d + shipping
    • 90 or Y grip with no covers or screws in 20% carbon filled, $40 pp’d + shipping
    • Covers alone in normal PLA, $10 pp’d + shipping
    • Covers alone in 20% carbon filled, $15 pp’d + shipping
    • Add screws to any of the above for $5

Here is the 90 degree frame I’ll be offering. The panels are currently printing with the tube bender I’m printing for my air lines.

Looks cool, remember shipping priority to all 50 (+PR) via usps isnt any different then lower 48.

      What color options?

Thanks, and I t’s not? Then I have no issue doing all 50. I had always assumed shipping was exorbitant which is why people never did it....

Currently I only have white and silver but color options are open for discussion, so if you have a desired color just ask it will just add a couple days lead time and a $10-15 charge depending. If it seems like it’s an unpopular color choice I may decide against that particular color.

Here’s the final 90 and the rendering of the forward angled grip.

I’m uncertain if the forward one will actually be comfortable so whether I’ll actually offer it will be up in the air until I print it. Given the AGD Ygrip it SHOULD be ok, but we’ll see.

Also if you have a DXF I can put a pattern on the grips like the Mjolnir, otherwise they’ll come plain or with Mjolnir.

This is cool subbing for future updates.

So the only update so far is that I’m switching to brass inserts over the original nuts I had on the prototype. Those parts aren’t coming in until Friday, so I can’t measure them until then to verify the spec sheets.

I’m hoping to have the forward angle grip printed to try by EOB tomorrow. Would have been tomorrow morning but my hardline bender decided to self destruct while half done...

Christmas came early! The inserts and 20% carbon PLA that were supposed to come in tomorrow are in.

I also have the finished forward angled grip/Y grip. I was worried the trigger being so far forward was going to make it uncomfortable, but this is the most comfortable my phantom has ever felt! I’m still on the fence between this and the 90, just need to play with both.

So, tonight I will be printing a final 90 and Y grip to accept inserts. I will post up pictures tomorrow when they’re done.

As stated prices are as follows:
The carbon definitely isn’t a necessity, just will help ensire it doesn’t break if you take a spill. The PLA is plenty sturdy for normal play and likely light spills. I’m honestly surprised.

One other thing to note, the angle on the bottom of the grip frame is kept identical in relation to the body of the marker as that of the 45 frame, so the actual angle of your rank or stock will be identical with the switch to the 90 or the Y, it will just be translated slightly forward.

I would like to note, not that it is a guarantee, that I had a prototype warp from high heat temperatures in storage. If I had to guess it was on a day where it was probably 110-120* F in my shed, however this only happened to a thin and single piece out of a few in the same storage unit. Could have been a bad piece, but thought I should mention it.

That is a downside of PLA is that some of it can warp at higher temperatures. I may be looking into switching materials to something more stable, but ABS is out until I have an enclosure. PETG is a possibility but I don’t have any experience so I don’t know how it compares.

Well everyone, here is the final product.

I’m going to be switching to heated inserts in place of the threaded ones as I had to heat the ones on the bottom anyway which lead to sanding needing to be done; that isn’t necessary with the ones that are meant to be heated so the ones you’ll get will have no sanding.

Please let me know your feedback!

                I have covers!

So this is pretty much how these will look, minus the sanding. I’ve ordered the heat staked inserts, and as you can see in the sides those require no sanding whatsoever. I’ll still make up one for sale that I’ll post pictures of and keep these two sanded ones for myself unless someone really needs to have them for some reason.

Again, any and all feedback is welcome!

Hey everyone, so I'm curious, is the lack of interest in these just due to not wanting them enough, or is it due to the price being too high?

For me I don't care for 90 degree or 15 degree forward grip angles, feels awkward on a pump. I only see usefulness in those angles when trying to fan a trigger but to each their own.

Fair enough. I can see that especially if you don’t use a stock. I personally can’t hit shit without a stock so the 90 feels fantastic to me. The Y I’m on the fence about.

I'll be interested in a Y grip for a precision rifle (real steel) but I'm still dealing with a porch pirate situation. Not ready to get back into the world of shipping yet.

I love that Y-grip... just don't have a Phantom/M-16 grip frame to stick it on. Might get on anyways and invent a reason to put it on something.

Maybe my pump Omen project needs a Y-grip... how do you feel about adding the Evil "e" logo to a set of those panels?

                        Re: lack of interest.

Personally, I never saw the appeal of weird angled grips however clearly some people really really like them because what I’ve seen people pay for 86° grips would make your eyes water. It may just be a matter of word getting to the right people.

Also, most Phantom users have never touched a plastic grip and probably don’t much like the idea of it. Most people want to move up range to hardwood or brass if they are going to change anything and not something that will possibly melt.

Most shooting positions for paintball wind up uncomfortable with a standard pistol grip in my opinion. The 90 is a great option, the Y is ok, I think it might need finger ridges to really be great.

Have you tried posting in the phantom group on Facebook? They have a load of guys in there that I haven't seen on here.

As for me I'm having to hold off on this project to get some others done and out of the way prior to this.
