    Havoc Shellshot -SUPPORT THREAD-

Figure I'd open this up if anyone has troubles with their stuff. Shipping has been slow sorry about that, but there may be some fitment issues as sizes I was given for the 'rim' were not exact.

If you have any issues PM or post I guess.

There is 1mm rim space in the HAVOC (mine has 3mm ugh stupid Metadyne had to chance it)... so my rim is 1mm, but this may be too thick!!! If it is too thick, it can be sanded down. The rim isn't even really necessary, the TAPE is supposed to do the full friction hold.

IF you have a rim problem PM me. I'm trying to get this sorted and may offer replacements once I get the proper sizing. It should be an easy fix to just sand it down a bit tho! (wear safety gloves if using knives).

Recon SWS, sorry you think we are stupid. I am not sure what you are referring to about a "rim" and where exactly you are having a problem. Maybe you can explain it further and I can make it unstupid.

I am not sure if this is what recon is talking about or not. but from my personal experience of having a similar item made out of aluminum years ago, there was a difference in the amount of space between say the beak breach and the stock barrel and the breech and the stock barrel extension. basically the amount of threads didn't seem uniform between all of the versions of the havoc and all of the possible threading combos
I had and original H-cog marked havoc, newer at the time havoc, barrels from different runs, and breech adapters from different runs. if you took say a havok and barrel no breech you would thread the barrel on to the havoc much deeper than if you were threading the barrel on to the breech adapter.

Uh oh I've managed to inadvertently open up a portal and summon someone from Metadyne. Awesome! Just want to say I DO love you guys and I DON'T think you are stupid I just wish for a fresh bounty of Havocs to be brought upon this land.

Weekendballer sums up my concern.. On the breech kit, female end, the inset is extruded in only to a depth of 1mm to accept the male end. On my old Gen1, it is extruded 3-4mm I can't remember, which provided ample room for a "rim" for DIY shells. The newer breech kits do not have ample room. I guess it saves a machining operation.
