Saw it a while back but then someone was asking about them for cockers. So, now I’ve got the itch

from what I’ve read, it is a pretty straight forward job if you have a drill press. If no one on here already makes them then I’m gonna reach out to a buddy

I think an ivory cue ball would look slick

I have a Cue and 1 Ball left. Both done by Ken/KPCS. PM me if interested.
They are certainly comfy, and look “right” on micros especially.

Don’t assume that drilling pool balls is easy, even though many have done it.
They are famous for being difficult. They chip easily and are hard to hold stable and drill accurately because of the curvature of the ball is what I always see mentioned.
Ken’s are especially “low hung” which I like better, but is even harder to do correctly (there will still be chipping along the sharp edge created, and often a little cracking (eventually), that doesn’t affect function).
Ken uses a special jig he made.

So…not your average drill press job, but if you got the gumption…got for it. Interesting pool balls are cheap enough on eBay to ruin a few.

I have never seen anyone also use a single rod undercocker mount also with a pool ball like you are requesting, but it should certainly be doable if you can get the rod hole about center of the ball so there is room to have a deep enough hole and not break though the front.

You might try not drilling through, but “scallop” the top instead, to make it a true undercocker. I have never seen anyone do that, but it should work. Something similar to my skull undercocker…

Wow. That is fricken awesome. I had not considered the cracking issue at all.

PM sent on the cue ball.

At my last job (a machine shop), they would usually use a flat-bottom end mill to start the hole in an angled surface. Would have less chance of walking like a pointed-tip drill.

Looks like his jig supported the drill as it started the hole, not letting it wander off. Good thinking.
