WTB: All Metal Tuning Rod for Nelson Based Front Bolt Pump Markers

    Hello,

I recently revived some Razorback Pumps. I am in need of a tuning rod that adjusts the front bolt of the pump marker. I had two that were plastic, but they are trash now. So I want to avoid plastic tuning rods. I am looking for one that is all metal. I'll even take two if offered.

The velocity adjustment tool? Slotted or Hex?
Pretty sure mine are slotted. I just use a long screwdriver I bought at Harbor Freight.

As Pyrate said get long screwdriver at harbor freight. About 18 inches w slotted head. Lubricate metal with a bit of wd40. Slide flexible clear tubing over shaft. Trim as needed. Now you wont scratch barrel.

IIRC Razorbacks have a hex drive adjuster, so you need a 1/4" hex driver long enough to reach down the barrel to make the adjustment. I just cut a hunk off a piece of aluminum 1/4" hex stock then just add some heat shrink. Cross drill a small hole on one end and slide a splint ring in for leverage and something to hang it by. You could also take a 1/4" hex bit and epoxy it to the end of a squeegie, just refrain from taking that one on the field.

Just curious. Were the Phantom adjusting rods made from 1/4 " hex stock with a plastic screwdriver tip? I got rid of mine many moons ago and they could have been smaller than 1/4 "

The CCI tuning rods are 1/4" hex stock with a little plastic slot tip. I never liked those plastic tips so I just grind the very tip of the Hex Rod to have a flat that fits [just fits] so I can use the same rod for either hex or flat adjustment.
