    [CCI Phantom] Juan Deag. Project

This seems like a trivial project to attempt in downtime between prints and designing other things and waiting for confirmations and all this and that, and is actually a lot of fun! Going to give it a shot. Premise is to make a 'golden gun' style slide for that type of mode or play-style. The benefit is, you can put FS rounds in now and one tap fools.

Context : Juan Deag. is in reference to single tapping someone with a Desert Eagle, in a video game. But it's a jank way to say, One Deag. The more you know...

Post on my site with extra flavor text : https://iiterator.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=6

(depicted slide fully cocked back) Looks more like a colt than a deagle..

Thanks m8! Update coming Sunday if Sunday ever comes.

Thanks! It's getting there, got the front and rear sight posts in. I'm going to take this opportunity to experiment with 'fiber optic' sight posts, and inlay some filament in the voids.

Looks good, for fiber optics you can use a small flame or soldering iron to flare the ends and keep it trapped in the mount. Maybe heat up a metal rod with a lighter and press on the optic to mushroom it slightly without melting the printed body.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind, gonna set up the optics today since prototype 001 is complete, but untested. No comment. Update Sunday :P

Is it going to latch back, or do you cock it while holding the next round also?

When gassed up the bolt stays open by itself, you have to drive it forward. So theoretically just fire, rack slide open like a gangster and it will stay open like you're empty, drop in F/S round or nerf dart, and rack forward and you're golden. We have yet to see how it works.

        Ooohh I like.
A thumb rest to keep it forward when firing?

Ohh also, when using the single rod-pump-kit, this allows you to add an actual spring on that actual thing... which means automatic slide return and foreward locking might work, but this might be too much... Either way it does need a lock you are right (either a foreward or backward lock depending on how practical lol). But yeah a thumb rest is the basic plan.

If I can get my hands on a physical sample or at the very least spec. CAD files of the important bits. Unfortunately my stupid business partner (my dumb half aka myself) gambled away corporate funds and thusly I cannot afford one at the moment. But now that I'm roleplaying a corporate entity aka iiterator, gotta budget for stuff.

But I've had at least 3 requests for nelspot based mods, so it's on the roadmap

No pics or vids yet of prototype, I'll probably get those done end of day, or I'll just batch it in with prototype 2 footage and upload it in a few days we'll see.

In the meanwhile, this is what the final CAD files look like for this project. We've got 6" flush version, and 8" compensated flush version (sadly 1-tone color only on the comp), added thumb notch, and we seem golden. Gonna print these 2 in silver and gold since I want to test my new colors yay.

Those look cool! This is going to look good with the RTR grip frame I got. I definitely want one in black with the comp. 8” is the shortest you can go with a freak barrel I think.

So the spring sits inside the printed piece? It should spring closed right? So hold it back, load, spring closed in theory.

There is no spring at this time. That's a future version I'm not gonna attempt now lol. But I added real test vids so go check em

What pump kit do you need to use this?

The default phantom threaded-pump rod only; should be a quick swap of the default pump grip. If you have a single-rod-kit, then it is also compatible.

Progress update : Just going to do a prototype 003 and do final aesthetic review especially the underside of the compensator and underside in general, and some mesh improvements to improve surface quality, and some softening of sharp edges. Should be a quickie. Then will process all pre-orders the week of 4/20 and ship some time after. I might be slow to ship because of c-vid lockdowns but will be timely as possible.

Also gonna do raincovers in tandem since it's kinda suited to this item and got open normal sized printer.

Testing proto 002 on the weekend with raincovers... 003 wont need a test. Also likely a separate version for people who chose "no, will never use undermount kit", to fix up that aesthetic since there is a gaping hole for that kit.

Fusion 360 Dark Mode is so nice mmmm wish they would do up the UI in dark as well.

All variations have "bottom rail cuts" for lazers and flashlights, these are nice and hidden you won't even notice them..

But... I think I have to offer "top rail cuts" as an options, because they are kind of ugly (not ugly as in not sexy, ugly as in they ruin the top smooth surface). Will demo them on the weekend, but they do offer optic use on top like microdots theoretically.
