I think I have to find a place for a slide lock... I fear the marker was only locking back so well because it is so dirty inside, and now that I've polished the internals clean I think the slide-return spring will just kick in and retun the slide as soon as you cock it. Luckiily this spring is weak, and can easily be held open with the thumb notch for loading, but I want a good slide lock. Gonna look into this real quick.

Slide-Lock is IN... easy peazy. Gonna try and consolidate the final files for everything now and finish up hopefully that is quick. More pics vids later.

Too many CADs not enough prints srry here's the slide lock position tho if anyone was curious. Will bolt to back bolt location, seems legit. Already tested and works fine, just gonna fix up the angles so it doesn't slip and we good on the slide-lock function. Can't wait to test this thing again since I totally tore down and cleaned this phantom and fixed all leaks. Not ambidextrous sorry lol. The position is very close to the safety, but unlike the real m1911a1, hitting the slide release doesn't accidentally engage the safety :P nice!

Motha fuckin scope-creep haha now I have a strong desire to add a quick-disconnect to the actual threaded pump rod, so you can remove and install the slide without disassembling the marker. Crazy.

Fuck it, might as well make the compensator Quick-disconnect too while I'm at it lol (no joke).

Going to stop 'iterating' and start production of pre-orders since I think we're solid I mean we were solid at the start but now we're at like 120% completion on this project and it's looking like a real sweet kit imo. Of course must do one final test but yeah maybe 1-2 weeks-ish to ship those and post up new media of the updated stuff.

Thx :P From what I'm seeing it should be a copy-paste job (at least for the slide) to port this over to the trracer, minus the offset feed as cutting place for that would probably require some work to not have it destroy the structural stability. Grip frame might be different for the slide lock so I dono. I'll wrap around to trracer after I finish up 102% here, but as pm might sooner.

Did they relocate the threaded pump rod location or is it the same? (i.e. new grip grame). Otherwise I believe there is room for 1" bodies and 1" barrels I can check.

0.954" is the maximum barrel clearance I can make, otherwise it's shrunk down to 0.873" the phantom stock barrel. What's the AC barrel OD?

I think it's the same. As far as OD on a barrel... I'll have to double check but that might work. And if not. I do have other things it could fit on...

I've got a prototype lined up to try and.. if it works.. it works (shrug shoulders emoji). I'll tac it on to a 'premium package' if it works muhahaa #arketing:0

    #21
Man I was super disappointed this morning with prototype 006ish but hacked it to shit with some pliers so it worked and now it's my favorite prototype of the bunch. The slide lock and threaded quick disconnect are just so fucking sick, the disassembly is literally like a real slide (i.e. flip the slide lock down, pop out the threaded QD, and rip the slide off the front). It's always just one more prototype lol but this should be the last few. A final check (again), then a feed version check, then an alternate printer orientation check... and should have a good set of test subjects for the weekend... and then Monday hopefully start production on pre-orders (thx for thos :P )

Also I had to add ribs for pleasure, sorry this is a permanent aesthetic change unless u guys really don't like it but c'mon function over form! I can remove it from the side shown here, but I cannot remove it from the other side... It's more subtle when printed and looks nice. Will show it off in a print soonish

Quickie update : Final prototype looks golden as fuck omfg. I'm just going to test alternate print orientations to get the best surface finish... and I realllllly want to do one in silver or bronze but this silver and bronze is literally no joke 1500% weaker than black so I'd have to get them print settings perfect for it to be strong enough to take a hit without completely disintegrating lmao. But the black is like steel I reinforced the shit out of the geometry AND updated print settings so I should now have maximum ass layer adhesion so this thing will be a tank.

    #22
all prior pre-orders automagically upgraded to premium kit with all the fixins (i.e. slide lock, regular slide, feed compatible slide (if it passes testing this weekend), silencer either round or hex whichever is easiest for me but will prioritize hex.

pre-orders will end in 28h and prices will be jacked up to meet global inflation (lol) but furreal this kit requies a bit more than it initially did so its probably gonna be expensiver than a typical reconslide.. (speaking of basic package only without silencer and feed compatible slide).

feed compatible slide is a complete failure and I don't see a way to make it work without finding some way to only allow 1 round to pass per slide pull, else you get 2 balls into the chamber, one 50% sticking out, it just jams every time. Lame. Also it defeats the spirit of the Juan deag!!! Okie going to go into high gear and whip these out finally been dilly dallying far too long. BRB

      **FINAL PRE-ORDER UPDATE**

Sorry it's taken so long boys but this is just how long it normally takes me to ship regular order lul so this being a pre-order, we are actually ahead of schedule! I'm taking steps to IMPROVE my timeliness but I'll throw out the ole corona excuse (hardware store closed early friday )

Will add trackings as stuff is sent out. Happy may9thersday.

    #23
Fuuuuuuck dudeeee sometimes the universe just likes to kick you in the nuts. I printed out all the slides AFTER doing a PID tune, not realizing that... it's going to print slightly differently now due to temperature changes or some bullshit I dono. Everything is over-extruded so I gotta re-print it all.

Good news is, ya'll pre-orders will get a bunch of extra extra slides (the over-extruded ones will be included since they DO work just fine they are just not up to high standard). These you can beat up or mod as you wish, maybe sand down, as a spare.

Also I'm waiting on hardware from china since hardware stores are locked down.

Also I'm re-attempting HEX CANS since they killed a printer may need redisign into 2 pieces.

Ehh it's a pre-order for a reason, better you guys wait then I ship you some garbage that doesn't work as I like it to.

    1-2 more weeks plz

Nvm wasn't the PID tune that cause it. I did a PID tune because the thing would shut off half way, but the underlying problem was a building clog. Kinda counterintuitive on the bowdens cause it causes over-extrusion but whatever, got it figured out at least I think.

Mmmm very nice, love the pics! That silver makes me want a silver marker in my life. Aight so Chaos is the guy to go to if you want modded slides xD

BTW : Pre-orders have just gone out - if you have no tracking - its probably going out tomorrow. Chaos got some prototypess early, but pre-orders are all final versions (tolerance difrences) :P

Alrighty so some people should have gotten em by now and tried em out (though undermount kit users might have to disassemble to install sorry!). So lemme know.

What do you love, what do you hate, what would you change, if the installations instructions suck, etc.

    Immediate future plans :
    • Quickly and cheaply make a quick-detach copy of the default pump handle, so undermount users can swap back without having to disassemble the marker. Convenience should be #1 if ya feel today's not the day for juan deagin' then it should be a quick swap back.
    • Get feeeeeedback on use.

Decided on a fresh post here, cause why the hell not.

Let’s start with the good. This thing looks great! Super easy install. Cool as hell and fun change to a phantom single shot setup. The barrel fitment is spot on with my 6”, both lengthwise and dare I say girthwise. Pump stroke is smooth, clears the hardline with ease, and the slide lock is a fun touch. The fiber optics are well integrated, and the push pin holds the hardware cover well.

Now for the constructive. The forward slide lock notch is deeper than the rear. It’s sufficient to catch, but looks like either the notch should be shallower to match the rear, or the catch tab should be longer and rear notch deeper.

The install video makes a big deal about the rear pump rod nut being as far back as possible, but if I do this the slide does not mount properly. Maybe I have a rod that is slightly out of spec, but in order to have the slide match the slide lock, and the two nuts to match the print, my rear nut has to be slightly forward.

The push pin holds the cover plate well, but the rear portion flies away from the slide slightly.

Lastly, there is a lot of side to side play in the slide. While I appreciate a certain degree of slop to eliminate friction on the body, it’s not without its problems. E.g. my slide mounts partially slanted to the right. This puts your beautiful fiber optic job slightly off target. If you look close at this picture of the breech the slant is apparent.

Over all I’m pleased with my purchase (that pre-order box came STACKED) and have no doubt you can work out the kinks. Thank you! And speaking of kinks, Eva says thank you too.

Upon further testing of the ROLL - it seems during play... the 'snap back' of the slide would reset the sights perfectly centered so this will be usable anyway...

But the non-uc roll is disgusting and must be eliminated. Thanks for notifying me!!!

Yeah, roll is a good word for it. I’m planning to pickup some of those anti-scuff felt furniture dots. I think if I glue one to each side it should ride centered without slaying my ano. And to think I had a single rod pump kit I sold last year...

It does cock fully by the way. Despite the nut location, the front of my pump rod is flush with the back of the slide, so it gets full contact and travel
