Unsolved 3D Printing Mysteries : Cold Case Files

Thread is for weird printing problems that remain unsolved, or ideas on how to solve any posted case files. These may be few and far between, issues must have multiple spanning board pages with no resolution. This is not a thread to really try and solve these problems (though I literally just said you can post ideas lol) as many have attempted before and not had success, but just a general glossary of these issues.

Case 1 : The bulge : Odd and rare artifact, but only rare because you or I may rarely print the geometry required to create it. It actually comes up every single time there is a shelf in the interior or any geometry; then anything vertically after the shelf is over-extruded. Over 20 pages of reports, suggestions, trial and error, and there still seems to be no solution. This is generally an aesthetic problem, but I can see it becoming something that affects function in larger prints. Worst case scenario : you are printing an electronics case, like a raspberry Pi case, or any case, and your wall will have a random ugly bulge in it for no reason (due to minor shelf geometry on the other side of the print) .

If you know of more cold cases, post em up.
