Freeflow is selling off unclaimed and overrun of a lot of their markers.

Not sure if this is news or not but freeflow is selling off spots on 4 of their previous marker sales. If you are interested they have spots for Dark, Reflex, Rhythm and Champion they are asking for the 500 dollar deposit and selling the markers for Dark $1,295, Reflex $1,295, Rhythm $1,195, and Champion $1,295. I hope someone who wanted to get one of these and missed them or did not have the money at the time can pick one of these up.
Link for those who need it.

So as someone who like rare stuff. They say 100 to be made. But overran and now sell more then the 100. Doesn't sound fair to the original buyers who were told 100.

Yes I know they had different quantities for different guns. i had to pick one and 100 is a nice number.

I may be wrong but i am not sure that cougar20th you are understanding what is going on. The way i understand this "sale" is not one of they are making more but rather they were set to sell 100 Champions they made the 100 and only 95 people have paid for their Champions so they are selling off the 5 (not sure on the amount here) spots to whoever wants them so that the markers can reach peoples hands and not be sitting in the shop collecting dust.
Some things i have no clue about with this is, how many spots are available, how many were backed out, and how many did not reach the quantity they wanted.
The thing that surprises me on this is that the Rhythm is part of this and there seems to be a few of them. They were only supposed to make 55 yet they are selling spots and have 2 finished markers available. That means that they only sold 52 or less and that surprises me as i have seen one in person.

Something else i am curious about and maybe someone here has knowledge on it but what is happening to the 500 dollars that was paid is it being refunded, is it being partially refunded, or is it a loose to the customer?

you are correct, they made x amount and x amount hasn't fully sold out. Most of the overrun are in the event there are factory blems.
Rythm was not a big seller.
I do believe the $500 is non refundable. They had this line in the email when the deposit was paid for my clutch. "These are as custom as they get. We literally will be cutting the blocks of the aluminum for your order and building this beauty completely from scratch. That being said, there are no refunds." It was not in the same email i got for my champion. I am sure they reached out to people several times though as they know people want them.

I see no issue with selling off unclaimed guns that are under or equal to the stated limited quantity. That is only fair to the manufacturer.

My issue is selling "Over run" guns. Every machinist makes a certain amount of parts over the ordered number incase something goes wrong during production or processing (ano). These parts are the "over run" and would mean they are extras ABOVE the started limited quantity.

Yeah I did not even think of that portion of the sale, i was thinking that the overrun was in reference to the Reflex and the Dark which did not have a limited quantity but i see that they have over run for champion and rhythm and those are limited quantity markers if they are making more then 55 Rhythm and more then 100 Champions that to me is wrong like you said. I would hope that they are only selling the unclaimed and the portion that did not sell prior to the cap. So that there are only 100 Champions out in the world and 55 Rhythms like they advertised.

I am just not sure what should be done with the overrun parts of those 2 markers if say 5 extra bodies were made should they be destroyed, kept for repairs, turned into a different marker, turn it into a pump, or locked in a vault and only released with the Disney movies?

I understand that a big part of the reason for limiting the quantity is to make it retain it's value, if i tell you i have a stock WGP autococker body for sale, you will likely not care and the body is not worth much, where as if i tell you I have a Black Widow body you would be way more excited about that.

But we are dealing with new markers so the collectablity is slightly diminished and in all reality if there are 105 Champions and 60 Rhythm would that destroy its value. I know some of the most collectable items are "defects" and if you had Rhythm 56 would that maybe make it worth more money? I guess a portion of that is how free flow serializes their markers. If they are numbered RYTH01-RYTH55 it would be easy to see where as if they are 20220501256-20220801311 it would be a lot more difficult, throw in that they are making other markers at the same time so if they are not all serialized at the same time you could get a massive block of numbers, and without the whole paintball community working together you would never know the true number of markers out there. I also know that some marker manufacturers allowed you to choose your serial number so that could throw even more wrenches into the works.

With all of that said unless the owner comes on here and tells us the who what when were why, not sure if we will know if it is undersell, lost spots, or over production and making extras.

I think you are thinking about it too much. I know the champions were limited to 100. The Rythyms were not limited, I think they said they only made 55 bodies because he wanted to get ahead of production have 2 different bodies made at the same time so he rolled the dice. The real limited ones are the ones that i would be upset about making over runs. i believe the early models only 20 of each were made.

I am not thinking about it to much you are!! I have only lost 8, 16, 24, .. hours of sleep. I was thinking that the Rhythm was limited because on the flyer it stated "only 55 available!" But you are quite likely right in that it meant he had 55 machined and ready but it was not limited. In all reality it does not make too much difference to me since I do not own either and do not plan on buying one anytime soon. Well unless i can con a pump out of freeflow.

The AAs won the free flow open and I’m pretty sure they took money instead of the 5 rhythms, that might account for some of them.

edit: commented before I read. Still leaves 5 spare rhythms though.

I don't think there was a money option, but FF was willing to post them on the website for the AA's
