I'm a bit of a jack-of-all-trades and sometimes will sell stuff I make from the garden or stuff I fix up from craiglist/thrifting. I certainly won't retire on the extra income, but it's nice if I want to take wifey out to breakfast and not have to pull out the credit card.

I've got a lot of experience now fixing up paintball guns, once I get my garage shop in order I was thinking about offering repair and tune-up services. I'm very mechanically handy but work for a large corporation behind a desk doing legal stuff.
I guess technically my "side gig" is the family business which is Horse Eventing and training, we've got 12 horses now. If you want a gig where you move a lot of money but are always feeling broke, horses are for you :P

I donā€™t know if itā€™s a side gig if I donā€™t really make any money from it, but at this point paintball is pretty much self sustaining. I B/S/T and it pays for paint and entry, plus I get all kinds of new gear to try out. I play about half of the weekends in spring through fall, so the hobby would get costly without it.

I have a full time 45-55 hour a week work schedule with 50% weekends on call. I don't have time for a side hustle. Most of the time I don't even have time for things that need done like home cleaning scheduling or any sort of life break.

I guess you could say I have a side hustle, but none of those options really fit. It's more like "I have a side hustle, but it's been really slow" or "I have a side hustle, but it's really more of an afterthought". I never sold off my 3D printing equipment, but it hasn't seen much use in a long while. Instead, I leave my designs up on Shapeways and if someone buys something I get an email saying so. I can just sit back and collect the money as it slowly trickles in. If I have an idea for a new product, I'll dust off my equipment, tweak it until it's right, then post it on my shop. I'll never get rich off of it, but my designs have paid for my equipment already. Anything more is beer money.

Just like licensing! But small scale.

I need to design something new. I used to make an extra $30 a month on shapeways, but haven't even checked the website for about 2 years.

If we exclude general retirement investing, I currently do not have a "side hustle" (extra income) but I have had a few in the past that I folded up.
            • Part owner in a paintball field, was (is) successful and I made money when I had my partners buy me out
            • Customer Server Builds, built servers on the side for energy management companies for several years and made money on everyone. Market dried up when cloud services became easier to use and got cheap
            • Small Business Network Install/Setup business, got to the point where I needed to grow or get out before I killed myself with the workload and stress. Sold out to a subcontractor. Made money every contract (more on some less on others) and on the sale of the business
            • Freelance Excel Spreadsheet configuration (word of mouth) liked the work but everyone I built something for felt I was 24/7 computer support so stopped taking on the work. I would do it again if it was just the development side of the work. Made money on the work for sure but most of that was eaten up with support questions if I am to be honest.

I work on the support side (industrial sanitisation equipment) and it's a time/energy sink hole ...

I own/rent real estate which is my "real" side hustle. Does fairly well.

My side hustle passion is trading stocks though. It's surprisingly easy if you research strategies and it's more entertaining opening my brokerage app throughout the day than opening Instagram or Facebook all the time.

If this applies to the family home, I could count that too.

Of course that's all tied up. Cashflow is another matter. If I'm starting a side hustle, the required startup capital needs to be below $10

Gotta have money to invest money. I'm making at least 10% untaxed annually on the house and have been since 2013, so that's fine by me.

These days it's amazing what you can do with zero money but plenty of time, thanks to all the free platforms online. My sister's etsy business is one of those.

also side hustle is something you do on side to make money. not money you pay into your work 401k. but could be your invest in stock market on side from work 401k

I write options and collect premium for some extra fun money, and deposit whatever I don't care to use for fun that month in a covered call ETF to earn a bit more fun money next month.

This is actually easily my most successful investment strategy. Called the "wheel strategy" it's pretty much a no-lose stock/option strategy. Good call!

I have literally no idea what it even means. Might have to google.

Cost avoidance could be considered income. I am helping renovate my daughters home saving them $$$$ as well as getting it done in a reasonable amount of time. Hopefully my daughter and her husband remember this when I get older and feeble.

Does flipping guns count as a side hustle? It literally kept me from being homeless for a while. It's funny, but now that i don't have much interest in flipping guns anymore, the opportunities to do so have dried up.

Right now, I'm starting to do freelance house design. So uh, if any of you want a house plan drawn...
