Trying to cut down on the scam PM problem, we have changed the entrance question and we made some changes that, unfortunately will affect new members.

New members will now need to make at least 3 posts and be a member for a set number of days before they can send a PM.

Can new members who’ve made the minimum number of posts but have not been registered for the minimum amount of days receive a PM?

I get the reasons for the rule, but I really wish I registered before the rule was implemented. Found out the hard way when I tried to send a PM to make an offer on a Autococker pump that’s currently for sale.

That being said, I’m happy to be on the forum. Been on the outside looking in for years

I’ve also sold several things to new members. They find our ads, think we are super cool and then want to join us and buy our stuff! Who could blame them. Fraud side will be trying to get you to send money. If you’re selling should be fine!

All of them that I can think of were people with 0 posts trying to sell stuff. Most of the time stuff they didn't even own.

I have sold several item to new or 0 post member and never got any issue
As long as they pay with paypal, you add the tracking on paypal and keep some picture of the content and the package sent just in case. This is what I do

The scammer attempt I seen was they was 0 post member wanted to sell me some stuff ask to contact them by email and pay with other method than paypal or ask for gifted payment

Are scammers trying to buy or sell stuff? I just sold a marker here yesterday to a guy that joined in November, but had no posts. He seemed normal, paid promptly through Paypal, gave a legit address. Should I be concerned at all?

The lack of shadow on the note, compared to the lighting and shadow on the photograph do not match. It looks completely out of place.

Funny thing, I had one of these scammers respond to my WTB ad, I was PM’ed with a number to contact, and he sent me my own pictures of an old marker I sold some years ago, around 2015, and just for shits n giggles I asked him to send pics with his UN and date and he photoshopped a paper in the same picture 😂.

I was going to report him but I noticed he was banned already. It was a brand new UN too which is a red flag in and of itself. Check out the number too any usernames using that cell number should get red flagged / banned right away
