its a play on a joke we had a previous burn. my friend made a camp called "hot dog city" and it was based on a wild west astatic, but she's vegan so the real draw was these vegan hot dogs. they are made by shaving a carrot into hot dog shape, and then marinating them this liquid mixture. they are fantastic, and im not vegan.Originally posted by cockerpunk View Posti recently went to a burn where someone was serving both hot dog water jello shots, and malort jello shots.
anyway, its a burn, so we did burn things with the joke, and pretty soon we had a bar at hot dog city that served hot dog water, the marinating liquid. and it was a fun joke, and im known for bartending there, and not telling people what is in the hot dog water. i offer with or without booze, and then of course, we kept going with the joke, and pretty soon we were adding relish, and pretty soon katchup and mustard rim ... jobs.
anyway, so last fall at a burn i was doing the hotdog water bartending. and i introduced this dude and his wife to it, and we all had a good laugh ...
well, i went to a burn this last weekend, and on my first lap after getting set up, the husband sees me, and is like ... "get over here gogo!" and he pulls out vegan (using agar), hot dog water, jello shots.
it was fantastic. like a perfect joke for the 3 or 4 of us who were there at hot dog city that evening.

anyway, this spawned a whole new series of jokes for him, which was like, if i can make hot dog water jello shots, what else can i make into jello shots? he has malort, jeigger, bunch of other ones.

Found a new drink to make with Malort
It's a variation of the italian cocktail Negroni
In this new cocktail Malort replace Campari (both bitter apéritif) and the Vermouth is replaced by a lighter type Amaro (dryer and more herbal foward liqueur)
How to make it:
Equal part gin (I used a London dry style gin), Malort and Amaro Di Erbe garnished with an orange peel and served on ice
Need to find a name for it
