I don't miss the giant mud pit that the placed turned into. Everything else was great though.

oh man, what a strange relationship harb and I had.

wonder what has happened to a lot of those old paintball people. not the people being old, paintball being old now. we should have an old internet paintball chat somewhere.

That would be awesome. I have seen and been a part of some awesome experiences since 1992 when I played my first paintball game at a field in San Antonio called Grandpas. Stumbling around through Europe drunk with my teammates and having a great time. Ate the best pizza I have ever had in my life in Stockholm Sweden made by a Turkish dude. Partied like a rockstar at Bitburg Germany for an event there. Went to an actual Coyote Ugly with girls dancing on the bar. Was almost beaten by a pissed off german boyfriend who thought I was flirting with his girlfriend or something. I wasnt. I was so drunk I was using the wall to hold me up so I could make it to my room. Had to walk past or through a few girls also holding the wall up. Made contact, didnt speak a lick of German and was all of a sudden grabbed at the shoulder of my t-shirt and slammed against the same wall I was getting familiar with. The guy and his friend could have been saying the nicest things in the world to me but German always sounds angry. My vision comes clear and I smile the most defiant smile I can muster.... My teammates saw this go down and all 8 of them were standing behind the 2 German dudes. One spoke to the 2 fine German gentlemen and all was good. Played a local 7 man event in England and was a body short so we drafted a very young 12 year old with a spyder who just happened to be at the field to play but didnt realize it was a tourney day. Asked his dad if he could run with us and he did. He had never played a tourney or even seen one. He was gonna watch that day, ended up playing the back home bunker and was freaking out as the drum sounds were beating on his airball bunker. We won the event, didnt drop a single game and by the end of the event that kid was charging down the field and trying to bunker everyone he could. We won 3 angel Fly IRs and gave him one. I hope to god he went on and became a pro somewhere. Shirts vs skins 3 man tourneys in the break periods of our actual 5 man tourney. Oh man, feel like I could write a book about my paintball experiences.

I gave it all up for a woman. Been married to her for 22 years now. Dont regret it even slightly. Never stopped playing but paintball was no longer my driving purpose. That was a hard step to take.

Do hard things for fun. Being soft is for sissies. Being an asshole is easy, thats why everyone is one. Being stand up us hard. Be a hard bastard but be respectful.

mike kinda went further off the rocker. i dont know what to think about his marital issues, and the subsequent child custody issues. without knowing both sides, hard to judge, and i know mike can be a loose cannon who doesnt think about much sometimes. on one hand i always liked that about him, you always knew where mike stood, he was always very public, but sometimes it lacked the necessary nuance or forethought.

bryce still lives over in minneapolis, i haven't kept as good of track of him as id have liked too. last i saw him was a few years ago, and we touched base when George Floyd was murdered because the police abuse was around his neighborhood. he was fine. he still mountain bikes and is active.

kitty i think moved back to the UK. she was working with FPS russia when he was big, and then had her own etsy store for a while. she was also a professional dom for a while too, i know.

i sorta wonder what happened to like TB, auctionjunkie, and some of the other nutcases of paintball. simon seems to have cut out a niche, good for him. i also wonder what the long game is for folks like jack wood. is there really 15 more years in paintball at the income level a 20+ year veteran engineer earns? i know no paintball company could afford me right now, and im not even 40. sean scott got out of paintball, so did ray from ninja, good for them. i have always wondered what happened to DLXaudrey, rebecca gamble, i herd she was a teacher now.

i moved on to racing cars, and now am trying to transition out of racing cars. but nothing really scratches the same itch as racing cars does. its a terrible hobby, expensive, wasteful, and has certain safety issues, but jesus if it isnt the fuckin funest hobby. the work sucks, the capital investment required sucks, but every time i get out of the race car, i still feel the shakes. there is nothing like racing, there are equally exciting activities, mostly sex and drugs, but none quite like winning a race. ive been flying a lot of kites, which is great. and then ive been spending a lot of time and money on burning man art projects. obviously built an art car, and now have a ongoing art installation we bring everywhere. ive also been learning to make clothes, because i can no longer buy the kind of clothes i want to wear at burns, and so i need to learn to make clothes, so i can make/modify the kind of clothes i want to wear. it has been amazing to explore my creative side, after spending 38 years of my life working on other people's ideas. im also writing a play, well, fringe show. its a comedy about math, so you know its going to be a hit. but thankfully i dont need to make any money on my creations, cause of my 9-5.

Dan was quite a character. Him and I were both captains of teams that competed in the ICC so we became adversaries pretty quickly. We went back and forth in in 1999 or 2000 year in the Novice league. My team's goal that year was to win the overall championship by trying to at least place in the top 3 of each event. Dan's team jumped in and tried to place first at every event. In the end, we won the overall championship because they couldn't catch us on points. We competed against each other for years after that, but we always got together and played for Red Team at Monster Game at Hell's Survivors.
