That's some nice book matched burl scales. Looking forward to seeing this finished...and in my hands.

Set up the buffing wheel today and then got carried away with polishing. I've never really used one before, it's almost meditative.

        Many hours later...

It still needs some more shine but I should have done the sights and ramrod first anyway.
Hollow ramrod set on top of the barrel doubling as a peep sight...? Or riding on the left side with standard post and notch sights...?
Winner's going to need some burly forearms either way.

Post and notch sight might be a bit easier with a mask, but the sight becoming the ram-rod is cool ...

In any case, it looks great, those grip are awesome!

I'd love to have turned out a perfect specimen with masterful soldering and an immaculate mirror finish but I think I've taken it as far as I'm going to.
I aired it up last night and shot 10 First Strikes with some pretty impressive accuracy and it was still holding air 24 hours later so it's all systems go!
A little more polish because it could use it and why not? A bit of Loctite here and there and it'll be ready to go to its new home - which still needs to be chosen.
You've all waited this long, and likely forgot this was even a thing, so I'll hold off until Saturday evening just to drag this out even longer and pull a name at 7pm EST.

Came out great! I dig the sights and the side saddle ram rod. How much pocket pool is required to buff the forearms enough to wield this beast?

That'd depend on how many hours you've put into that game already.
