Virtual Race

Next week I start a virtual race which is a replacement for a race normally held out by the Finger Lakes. Rather than a one day event it goes for a month and a half. If I log 75 miles or more I get a medal.

Here's hoping I do well and hurt myself.

Hardcore! I know that is a typo, but it made me chuckle. 75 miles running, cycling or ...? I did a virtual 5K run back in the spring, but they just mailed everyone a medal and a t-shirt. Completely honor system on wearing them, but it was a fundraiser for planting trees, nothing too serious.

Hah... Yeah I really hope I don't hurt myself.

It can be any form of feet on the ground, so running, walking and hiking count. I will be tracking with Strava so I can fall back on that, but for the most part it is the honor system.

It's also to benefit United Way so that's a good thing. $55 gets me a shirt and potentially a medal and a good chunk going to charity. A bunch of us from my Agency are doing it as a team so there could be some bragging rights there too.

No hurting myself.
