    It tracks my runs and my other workout app syncs with it. The main benefit for me is that it's already on my phone without the need for any new accounts.

    TBH, I used the paid version of Strava for a while and it worked really well. It has a 'social media' type aspect to it (if you want) and challenges and such that you can be involved in. My primary concern was the privacy changes they kept making and the realization that like other social media type places there was a trade off in privacy (and cookies) for the feature set along with the aspect that you are paying to be sold and spied on. I mean, obviously if you are posting running or riding results......anyway...
    I used a really basic program called 'Ride With GPS" or some-such for a while and liked it a good bit for keeping track purposes. Even it went a bit far in privacy practices so I opted to log things manually. Whole lot less "cool" but FAR more private (if such is a concern to you).

    Bro I'm not gonna lie I am not quite sure what you're saying. I'll check out Nike Run and S Health, I don't much care about Big Brother taking my biometrics.

    Samsung health wasnt too bad when I used it. I also used it with google fit, but they overlap. Google fit was required because my work was doing step challenges, and it used tracking from an app called movespring. This only worked with google fit's data.

    I like Samsung health more than google fit.

    Also tried Strava, but thats a paid service. Though I feel my pulse readings during physical activities were more accurate with Strava over the S health app. ( samsung read consistantly lower on the bpm, meaning your burned calories never seemed that high.) My acid test was a 1000 calorie bootcamp video I do, and they say you should burn at least 1000 calories in the 1.5 hour video. S health said I burned 800 calories when I ran it. And my b.p.m. chart was really gradual and steady. (I didnt agree with the results.)

    I did the same workout on strava, and it had a much more accurate looking chart relative to how I felt, and it said I burned 1300 calories.



    But my wife uses Nike Run. She loves it. Its free, and has training programs to coach you from couch to 5k. Or whatever you wanna achieve.


    I quit all of them to prevent further biometric scanning. As wearing a watch with your phone that reads your biometrics all day seemed too much for me. That being said, I personally really likes S health, especially with a samaung watch for functionality.

    Hi folks,

    My ankle is finally healed after a gnarly sprain back in January and I'm getting back into the swing of running. I'm using the free version of Strava and I generally like it, but I'm curious if anyone else has experience with tracking apps that they recommend. Is the paid version worth it?
