Curious if anyone else is working on any songs?

Cooked this riff up tonight. The second part was kinda messing around .... but i think the first part is usable for a song. Anyways post up what your working on.

Nice, sounds very similar to the opening riff of "prayer" by gorgoroth

Hmm I'll have to listen to that. Cant say I've heard of them before.

Edir: took a listen and they definetly have more movement going on. But I see what your saying in terms of general note selection. Similar, but thankfully, not the same.

That is SICK! I love the sound you are getting out of your setup. What pedal(s) are you using?

Jackson SL2 Pro into Peavey XXX (crunch channel) into a Jackson 4x12 from 80a

No pedals or effects. Recording through Izotope spire microphone.

Edit: there is a second guitar track overtop of the transition parts. I think in terms if two guitars so I was trying to decide If that part would be harmonized or not. So I left the double track in because I thought it sounded good.

My main gigging amp was a XXX for a few years. They're vastly underrated metal amps, probably due to the cheesy faceplate (which i immediately replaced).

I play through the Nu-x more than anything else at the moment. It sits on an end table next to my couch.
I live in an apartment and haven't played in a band in almost a decade (with no intention of doing it again) so I don't have a need for anything more powerful than a few watts. I also haven't picked up a guitar more than a few times a month in almost as long, so i'm probably going to wind up getting rid of most of it.

Sounds pretty good. I' be interested in hearing what it sounds like with drums.

I have 5 songs I'm working on right now... 2 are "done" (at least guitars), 2 need solos finished, 1 is still very early on. Only have lyrics for one; I suck at writing lyrics. Haven't really sat down to flesh anything out for a while though. It would be nice to at least have demos recorded.

C'mon guys post something. I was struggling today to write the next piece to this song. So I leave with an older song I was working on. This is my favorite solo I've written.

I need some inspiration - post some of your guys stuff.

Damn man - nice! Ukulele, or are you just hanging out above the 12th??? Either way, that sounds really good man. Very relaxing but also kinda a nice swing.

Rainmaker well you have a great natural flow with the ukelele. Very cool..

Alright, switched some stuff to clean because it's easier to write (for me) that way. I think I got the foundation of riff 2. Maybe lol

My tin whistle got bent by my kids the other day so the sound is terrible, but you get the idea

I was not expecting to here my track when it loaded haha. Very freaking cool. You record that with a mic?

Noodle B Phrygian and it should sound pretty damn tight. C over E followed by E over B. That's pretty much it. The runs are C B G F# OR A B E(bend up .5 and release)

Haha, your track sparked a thought. The cleaner sound of the riff gave me a whistl-y vibe. I just used a headset mic and BandLab

Rainmaker it sounds great. Very clean, but the top end is nice and tame. I appreciate it. Hard to write music solo because it's all internal... there is no collaborative process like when I had my band as a kid. So it's actually nice to hear something set to the track without any input from me.

well it's not perfect. And I have overlapping parts but this is the general concept I am going with. Time to pull out the tracks and start adding drums at so I can shape the song more before doing more strings.

Added a little to your previous one... Uke with reverb and distortion sounds pretty slick.

Wow that ukulele sounds perfect. The Shimmer on the notes is great. I may need to get that isolated track from you lol

ha- i'd probably want to re-record it. it was a spur of the moment. But yeah, definitely if you want it!

Rainmaker Well that's up to you if you want to record it again. You were hanging with the melody (well my attempt at melody haha) quite well. Plus right now I am just trying to glue this together into a song demo that I will use to then record as a whole idea. That way it will be recorded performances instead of copy and pasted cuts once its done.

Meant to comment ... but posted. Oh well.
