Got any paintball footage with it yet?

First of all, yes, you need to ask the paintball club owners if the games can be filmed. Well, about the choice of a drone: I would take one with a camera that has a good zoom, so that there is no need to go down too low.

here issue with drones they are great in all. but you if falls out of sky and hit someone. you might be held for damages. also should ask paintball park if okay. if they okay it check to see who at fault for damages if does anything to person or car. since you own it.

Wow yeah, I've not looked into the tracking stuff (nor do I have that feature on the DJI Mini) because I'd figure that in the woods with trees would be a no-go but hmm you're right that's be sweet for open field play.
It always seemed odd to me that the Mavic Mini series doesn't have proper optical tracking. Perhaps DJI was afraid of it competing with their more expensive offerings.

    Well that made my day!

So yeah, filming paintball with my Anafi is one of my big hobbies these days.
My biggest tip for not getting hit is to make sure to tell the refs to tell the players not to shoot at the thing. Or else they will.
Thankfully this happened back when I was flying a much cheaper drone which I didn't mind getting close to the action. I crashed that thing so often that it was rare to go through a weekend when I wouldn't have to replace at least one part when I got home.

These days I'm using a better drone that has a really good tracking function, which makes it kind of trivial to lock on to a single player or bunker and have it orbit it.
It also lets me do fun things like low sweeps or slow dolly shots.

Drone photos or videos of games?

Anyone done any drone videos or photography of paintball matches? Any good tips or tricks or have any suggestions of how to make sure it doesn't get hit getting too close into the action? Have any shots that came out awesome that you like or any examples of videos you've snagged?

I'm thinking some risk-taking might lend to some awesome shots whizzing through the middle of the action, haha though that may be determined by how $$ your drone is.
