Has anything changed with the whitelist or the server itself? I haven't been able to connect to the server for a while.

Dang, I got caught up with other things and forgot about this for a while. Is it still running? I'd love to have this as something to do in my free time again. I might even finish the build I started a while back.

It kinda seemed like the game had already been "beaten" by the time the MCB servers were dismantled.

I have it up and can access it from inside my network... Can you access it?

Do we want to do a server reset and start over?

I don't really have time to play it anymore. Work is insane.

No, I've checked on a few versions and it just says that I can't connect to the server.

Edit: I can connect now. Thanks!

So, Id like to join, but more importantly, I have a 12 year old nephew who is nuts about Minecraft. He is thinking of spending 20 a month himself on a server just cuz he cant get his friends to help pitch in. ( he mows my lawn for his money mostly. And Im trying to get him to save it for a better pc build.)

I was hoping you guys would allow him to get on the list as well so he just plays with yall rather than buys his own server.

Hes smart enough to know not to grief you, and Id tell him to treat it like hes a guest in your house, but you would definetly make a 12 year olds day better if you let him in. I also understand why the answer would be no.

If you are cool with him joining, Ill get his information.

I personally havent installed MC on my new pc yet, so I dont think I have a mojang account set up yet,but Ill set up and or verify my account this week, and Ill see if I can join up too.

If he wants to play with his friends, that $20 a month would be much better directed at a Raspberry Pi and hosting his own server. You're talking probably $100-120 all in for the board, an SD card, a power supply, and he'll learn a lot in the process of setting it up. There are a lot of fantastic YouTube tutorials on setting up a Minecraft server on RPIs, and the new ones, particularly the 8gb Raspberry Pi 4 is more than powerful enough for a few friends to play on. Might be worth looking into if his main goal is playing with his friends.

Well. I think it came down to him footing the first month of their server, then a friend flaked out on him, and he covered the second.

Now on the third, his parents wont let him fund the server they agreed to split.

He was contemplating buying the server on his own uust cuz he wants to play on a server that badly, ajd he could set the rules.

Long story short, hes more i to it than his friends, and I figured if this server was active, Id just pull some strings to get him into a domain and save his cash.

Another suggestion aside from the self hosting route would be renting a VPS and running the server off there.
Not to plug other sites, but I rent an 4core 8gb w/ 200gb SSD for $6.99/mo from Contabo, which has more than enough hardware to run whatever modpacks or host as many players as needed.
Plenty of tutorials online to help him get started if need be, but it wouldn't be any more complex than the RPi stuff tbh.

It also has the benefit of being able to host servers for other games, if for any reason they get tired of Minecraft and want to move on to something fresh
