Who's playing Cyberpunk 2077? Does it live up to the hype? Please keep the discussion spoiler free.

    Much obliged,

Does it play like the Witcher? I haven't watched anything on it.

I really am out of gaming for the most part. VR is cool, and new vegas always hits just right. But all i want to know is, after all the delays. DOES THE GAME WORK AND IS IT FUN! While not the main reason i stopped, I really hated spending up to $60 (isnt it now $70 for new next gen games) for a game for it to be a complete bore, or a complete s***show.

I've been holding out for a Switch remake/remaster of FNV. Still one of my favorite games even though I've dumped hundreds of hours into it. The Outer Worlds hit that spot a little, but it's not quite the same as New Vegas.

It looks cool, but Ive also been out of gaming to a degree. Ive taken to switch ported games as the little time I do play. I prefer to chill upstairs playing handheld while the wife watches tv vs playing a console in the basement. I hope they port this to switch even if it is nerfed.

I personally just got outer worlds for switch on black friday as it was cheap enough, but even that I didnt get far in my free time in 2 weeks. Granted I am playing on hard and its tough to get started.

Cyberpunk caught my eye when looking for a new switch game im excited to see what the forum has to say about it as it rolls out.

Outer Worlds has a weird learning curve. I struggled at first, but once you get the hang of the weapons system fighting becomes almost too easy. I had to ramp my difficulty up as I was one-shotting Mantiqueens and getting bored.

Johnny, yeah it seems impossibly hard right now. I think Im lvl 4? I found some nice mods early on by looting the taltuna factory before I tslked to any NPCs but Im not sure what gun to put em on.

But seriously both me and my partner get dropped if im not playing super smart all the time. I pretty much have to use a ton of coverage, and retreat til the enemy gets bottle necked or hide up on rocks.

I dont want to drop my difficulty just to het past the beginning as I am pretty sure itll het easy once I establish some armor and skills.

Outer Worlds wasn't any fun for me until I managed to get off the first planet. That first bit was so grueling that I took a break from it for several months. I'm glad I went back and finished it, though. It's a decent game.

Same here. I didnt really like Red Dead Redemption 2, so I'm more hesitant to buy open-world games based on hype and reviews alone now, even though I absolutely loved The Witcher 3. I just want to know if it's fun.

I loved RD2. The problem for me is when the game is too large, I'll never finish. Never finished New Vegas or Skyrim.

man.. I got RDR2 for the co-op aspect. My disappointment was immeasurable.

I'll probably pick it up once I can finally get my hands on a Series X. By that point, hopefully many of the bugs will be patched. The anatomically correct clothing glitches seem to be all over the Internet at the moment.

Reports and reviews of that game are that it’s super buggy and crashes a lot. I’m going to be grabbing some games next Friday when my new PC comes in. But I think I’m going to skip this one or give it some time to see if they get it worked out.

My son picked out this game Man Eater that’s an open world game you play as a Shark and it’s surprisingly really fun to play. I been hooked on that lately.

Played about 5 hours yesterday on Xbox one. Yes, the game has bugs, and the graphics are sub par on old gen consoles. It is disappointing to see from such a big release, though I somewhat understand it given that they were really aiming for the new gen consoles and PC for this. Supposedly patches are going to fix a lot of the bugs.

BUT, with all that being said, I have been waiting close to 3 years for this game and so that stuff doesnt bother me. I'm hyped for this game and even with the glitchyness, I still want to experience it. There is a TON to do in this game which is what makes me more excited for it over getting a short 3 hour campaign like we do with any modern shooters.

If you have the option for PC I have heard better things.

That’s good to know. I switched to PC after the lack of Consoles availability. With people buying them up and up charging with purchasing bots pissed me off. + the constant 2hr+ updates every time I boot the console up will be a thing of the past hopefully.

Just played splatoon 2 for the first time yesterday while my brother was watching cyberpunk stream. I am excited for cyberpunk but I'm a splatoon 2 guy for now.

Apparently there was a driver update of some sort that helped got a lot of people patched up.

I don't have any console or PC-capable machine for gaming, but I do watch a few lesser-known people on Twitch. Saw gameplay of Cyberpunk. Some really hilarious shit occurred.

Aaaargh you guys are killing me!!

I don't play video games too much anymore; the newest game I've bought is Destiny 2. But i've been hyped about 2077 for years now. Cyberpunk is my favorite genre/style and this one looks really sick. Problem is, I have finals and 2 large school projects to work on so I won't get to play it until next week. I'm dying to try it though.

As far as bugs or graphics issues are concerned, you really should be expecting that with a game like this. The Elder Scrolls games, Fallout, The Witcher, etc all have lots of bugs at launch. Any sort of open world game will, they're just too big for a company to ever fully test.

I'll definitely buy it. Hell, I'll probably buy it today and end up ****ing myself with missed homework assignments.

So far so good on PC. I do have a pretty strong PC (Ryzen 7 3700x, RTX2070, 32GB RAM) and am playing at 5120x1440 resolution at highest graphics settings with ray tracing off. The ray tracing looks gorgeous but my PC just can't do it without stuttering in really high contrast sequences.

I am 11 hours in and have noticed minimal bugs, but have seen screenshots of console players with an almost broken game. I don't even know why they ported it to current gen, just not strong enough hardware for this game (IMO).

Game is fun. If you want GTA look elsewhere, this is an RPG first, lots of exploring and dialogue. Combat is smooth, shooting is good, loot system is a lot like the Witcher 3 where you just constantly find slightly better gear and switch weapons every 10 minutes when you find something stronger. I am very satisfied with the game so far.

Not playing it but if you are a Stadia user, you can buy it and get a Chromecast Ultra and Stadia Premiere controller for free. $160 worth of cloud gaming goodness for $60.

I'm honestly surprised by how *not* cyberpunk it looks. Watching some of the car gameplay you could honestly mistake it for any of the newer Need for Speed games. Most of the cyberpunk-ness is quite subtle until you look closely. I suppose they're playing for mass appeal.

I'm disappointed in that I expected more Dredd/Bladerunner inspiration (I dunno, flying cars and megabuildings etc). The world they've created just seems ... normal, besides the body mods and some of the abilities. Gunplay seems very generic too.

It might be that I just got old, but also I suspect it's because we practically live in what would have been considered a cyberpunk world when these comics were being written.
