The way I read your post, there is a door on the opposite side of the water from where we came in? If so, then that door.

If it's locked, I'd try my hands at thieves tools to open it.

Ok, so you are trying to unlock (if it's locked to begin with) the door that was somewhat hidden off to the right.

Pool in the middle.

Another door towards the back, and to the left.

Because I'm a visual person.
Door on the right at the top of the stairs is the one we came from.
The "secret door" that we are talking about barring is in the bottom left corner. Mtaylor hasn't mentioned the one shown under the stairs so either he has altered the matrix of we haven't noticed that one yet.

If me putting this here is a problem just say so I will take it down and will ask first next time.

If there aren't any more doors in the "guard room" collecting together in the main room again and investigating the remaining door makes sense. Pique is wanting to make sure no surprises can come out of the guard room. Later when we have a good understanding of the situation we can decide if we try and ransack the guard's stuff.
