Restoring 100 yo Table Saw

It seems that the original track for he table saw was part of the table and flush. It is only 2 feet long. In the last 100 years, someone wanted a bigger table, and they created a 4 foot track out of three pieces of metal. This new track helps support a table extension and gives you a larger range of cutting widths. They did a good job but it is a little too high. I would say it is about three widths of paper too high. I am thinking about sanding it down or putting a bevel on the corner where it meets the table.
